I dont see how your statement is considered so outrageous. Suarez is clearly up there. If you call a single season striker your greatest, you got problems unless you are not Barca level.

If city got Messi I wouldn't even be super rustled. Although KDB got there, they really haven't made the same signings say, PSG have. You could say they've actually been smarter, but they really haven't flexed to get a player on the top tier, arguably ever.

Everyone knew Aguero and Silva would be good, but they weren't a Neymar/Mbappe level signing.

Im not sure Messi would do much in the prem anyway, different style of footy, new language to learn, he is the GOAT but that is no guarantee of success here. At Barca he has had everything built around him and at 33 coming to a new country, wouldnt be surprised if it all goes tits up.
