After they sell Reguilon, RM will make about 125-130m in sales this summer, during a pandemic, on players they didn't need, loans and academy players that didn't cut it.

They're gonna spend like 400 mil next year.

Rumors we’re selling Hoever to Wolves for £10m and are interested in bringing Jota in. Haven’t seen a price for Jota but selling an 18 year old for 10m 18 months after we bought him for less then 100k is pretty good business.

boy I would've loved RM to hustle United once more, but they would've gotten Reguilon as well so it worked out just fine in the end. and anyway, it's not like United can actually sign players, they just keep on getting used for better contracts

£41m rising to 45 for Jota with Hoever going in the other direction for £9m rising to 13.5. Jota provides some much needed depth and Thiago puts us another level. Good day for Liverpool

It's a very backloaded structure where they're paying only £4m this year, you can't do such shenanigans with release clauses unfortunately. It's probably still dumb, but whatever internal financial rules they are following they seem to be doing it pretty strictly.

All of is possibly true, but could it also be that klopp thinks Jota is a better fit and that he can develop him like he’s done for a few others? If klopp sees out his contract, he’ll have effectively gone through two player cycles with pool and obv he wants to win that entire time
