Out of all of them Byron Scott is the guy I'd pick to listen to his stories over some beers. AC Green is a freak and a very weird dude. McHale comes off like a politician, except when he's making fun of Walton - that was good.

I thought Ice Cube's narration was pretty bad. Wahlburg's was meh. Neither added much. Just let the players tell their stories.

Also the lighting was really weird. The black guys all looked yellow. And Jackie McMullan was lit terribly. I liked how they tried to hide Bryant Gumbel's gullet in darkness. Can't he just get that **** removed?

I really liked Maxwell's contributions. I was surprised at how shocked McHale's teammates were when he got aggressive during a game and didn't think he was a physical player at all. For some reason, I remembered McHale as being pretty physical for that era.

ESPN has scheduled its next “30 for 30” documentary, and soccer fans will probably want to mark their calendars.

The network announced Thursday that “George Best: All by Himself,” the story of the troubled by uber-talented Manchester United star, will air Tuesday July 20 at 8 p.m. ET. It will be directed by Daniel Gordon, who also directed the 2014 documentary “Hillborough.”

“I wanted to make a film that dug beneath the surface of the caricature of ‘Britain’s First Pop Star Soccer Player’ and tell a tale of emotional depth that takes us on George’s rollercoaster journey of a life,” said director Daniel Gordon in a news release. “This is a cautionary tale. It is a story of addiction and what can happen to someone who has so much at such a young age, who reaches unimaginable heights—and then hits the ‘self-destruct’ button throughout the rest of his descent to rock bottom.”

I think it was George Best who said, "I made millions during my career and I spent 90% of it on women and liquor. I wasted the rest."

i just watched the 30 for 30 on doc & darryl. a whole lot of similarities to the extraordinary talents at a young age and how the fast lifestyle brought them down.

I'd like to see a 30/30 on Freddy Adu. Probably wouldn't be appealing to mainstream sports fans but it could be very interesting.

They're doing a 30 for 30 on Mike and the Mad Dog?

Might be getting short on ideas.

I saw barstool is gonna do their own 30 for 30 type series on stuff ESPN wouldn't cover, like the manti teo/catfish situation. Could be good.

Old college roommate of mine used to wear his jersey all the time, and I'd call him Freddy Adon't without ever having seen a game. He'd laugh, and eventually he started calling him the same thing. Now I think I know why.

I could watch those all day. That's what 30 for 30 can always fall back on. Some corrupted Pakistani cricketer? Sign me up. An F1 star who self-destructed? Yes please. I've seen the Celtics play the ****ing Lakers. Give me more **** I didn't know about.

Just watched the mike and mad dog 30 for 30. I grew up in the tri-state listening to them. This was the most boring, uneventful, unrevealing 30 for 30 I've seen. No idea why this was greenlighted/greenlit?

I grew up in the MD Mountains in the 80s/90s and could get WFAN, especially at night. So I'd listen to Mike and the Mad Dog before Mets games a lot. Continued to do so when I went to college in Delaware, and on YES as I moved on. Still listen to Mike while I work and Dog while I drive. So I'm a mongo.

That said, I knew almost everything in the program. So it was fun nostalgia for me. But if you didn't know about it, or never listened I could see it being kind of dry. They could've used another 30 minutes to discuss more of the impact on the industry and their fights. Both felt a little glossed over. Also, the interviews with guys like me could've been further developed. Both guys talk about the father-son bonding impact they've had a lot, but it was never really mentioned here.

They're very relevant in the NY/NJ/CT area. I don't think the 30 for 30 was particularly good, mostly because way too much of it was short 15-second comments by talking heads or pictures of NYC during the 80's and 90's. But, they were around long enough and had a huge following, so they're definitely worthy of an episode.

Was really looking forward to this one. Grew up on them, vintage memories of driving in my fathers car listening to them, etc. etc.. Was really let down by this 30 for 30. Felt so rushed and didn't really do anything or tell us anything. Was just like a circle jerk of Francesa.

Best part of the whole show was the commercial for the George Best 30 for 30 which I'm really looking forward to
