Managers hate players going on international duty for meaningless friendlies. Cant imagine the reaction to them going to play an even more meaningless all star game

I dunno, I guess I like the idea though; All Star XI sides are potentially ****ing awesome on paper with a bunch of elite players that normally hate each other's guts teaming up to face another all star side or a club from another league maybe, or some country or whatever. If you know not to expect anything remotely similar to real games where something's at stake and realize that said players probably won't come close to their normal skill level they reach at their own clubs (I guess English people should be fairly familiar with this concept though seeing as there's recently been yet another national team failure)... I think they could be quite entertaining. Maybe half a week before the community shield/super cup?

Who gives a **** what Wenger is going to say? His players can get injured during a normal training just the same

I like this and I think I suggested something similar about Welbeck a while back. For players who are right on the cusp of making regular first team appearances I like this more than a season long loan deal.

With Welbeck I think id give him a full season on loan to someone.

Right now hes behind: Rooney, Berba, Macheda, Hernandez and even Owen. I really dont think he will be at Utd much longer, could prove me wrong but I think he will move on in the next year or 2.

Funny, I was just coming in to post re: Welbeck that I'm rewatching the 2nd half of the game and the ESPN commentator is calling him Wellman.

I think Welbeck has the potential to be a great success here and since he's a local lad I'd be very surprised if we moved him out so soon. With Owen presumably leaving after this year, Berba a year older and Diouf a question mark coupled with Welbeck's ability to play out wide and I think he'll get chances to prove himself. A yearlong loan would hardly be a bad thing but I think even with the other strikers ahead of him in the pecking order I think he'll get playing time in the cup games.

One more thing I'm interested to see is whether Chicharito can play out wide in a 4-3-3. I don't know enough about his dribbling and crossing skills but if he could it would be great to have another direct goalscoring option so we don't have to rely so heavily on Rooney when we do play 4-3-3.

There was also a point I wanted to make about every minute Owen takes from Chicharo/Kiko/Welbeck being a minute lost but I'm off to watch High Fidelity and don't have the time.

All-Star games suck in every sport. I can't imagine it'd be taken any more seriously in the EPL.

You can lay Liverpool at 1.5 to not finish top 6, how much are you laying bc?

Carrying on the "Ryan Babel is a nit" theme, he was asking around on Twitter tonight for free streams of the Europa qualifier.

To avoid a repeat of the Babel debacle, Liverpool should include an IQ test in medicals for any players they sign in the future imo.

LMAO, thanks for the video Ambush. Dude looks like Jermaine Jenas ha. I guess we need to change the meme from "Benitez ruined Babel" to "Babel gonna Babel".
