Onana 50mill
Mount 65
Hojlund 75
Casemiro 70
Lisandro Martinez 55
Antony 100
How is that not backing the manager? He is getting his old pals fat stacks of cash and they are not cutting it at this level.
Casemiro an exception and I rated Mount quite a bit at Chelsea.
There are these answers, yes. And then there’s also not accepting a £30m bid for Scott McTominay, constantly doing things at a glacial pace which then puts United in a bind to get stuffed on the prices, that then leads to Jonny Evans or Wout Weghorst having to come in(Antony for a stupid sum is a case in point as Murtaugh/Arnold insisted on having De Jong be the first signing and they badly backed themselves into a corner there last August).
I won’t hate on them too much irt Maguire. That’s entirely on Maguire for thinking he’s too good for West Ham. It does bother me that the player power may still be well within the club, but that remains to be seen.
Yes, there’s the layout that has happened. But there’s also the litany of missed opportunities from not moving fast enough or not being prepared (that’s where I’ll blame them on Maguire). Since Kim Min-Jae went to Munich, I can see that, but to not bring in Pavard or Todibo was just bad and any supporter would be royally pissed if their board did that.
The taking money out of the club isn’t lazy though. The Glazers have paid out close to 1b in interest on a club they heavily leveraged to buy and have let the stadium go to crap. Add in them taking out dividends while having a schizophrenic strategy and I think you’d be pretty pissed if Kroenke did the same.
Think about it like this: you walk past a nice house that looks good on the facade. You think to yourself: that’s a nice house, I bet it’s really nice inside. But, inside is a bunch of ikea furniture, rotting floors from bad flooring jobs and neglect, and a lack of many other things. That’s basically United right now.
I’m just glad I didn’t watch the Brighton match and actually went about my day
