Well to a) they were delusional. And to b) no two situations will be exactly the same, but you're the one suggesting Ange is failing after an improved season with a much younger and mostly new team

The Athletic saying that even the Spurs staff were joking about losing to City and one of them told Ange jokingly to play a youth side and he lost it. Fans are one thing but the staff!?

Analysis I've seen from both sides on spurs is pretty bad and off base.

Ange has some good ideas and although they've played naively in some spots he's shown some good tactical wrinkles to make me think there's something of substance there. Someone needs to get in his ear and force him to hire a set pieces coach.

They have a decent bit of roster work to do but if I'm projecting their error bars I see no reason why they can't put themselves in a really good spot to be a top 4 team. Especially with there being some uncertainty around Liverpool post klopp.

None of Chelsea/united/Newcastle inspire confidence in their ability to get their **** together. So villa is their main comp for t4 which like I don't see any reason that they shouldn't be able to progress past villa who's probably at the top of their range right now.

I'll take Chelsea to be the best of that group next year, including Villa and Spurs....

Also apparently the fan that got kicked out was asking Ange why he wasn't animated on the sideline, that is so soft

Both if these probably correct. Chelsea absolutely should be t4 contenders next season. Poch is a decent enough manager, and they obviously have a solid playing staff. However, It's probably odds against Poch being in change this time next year, so they will be back to square one at some stage.

We're obviously in a much better spot 12 months down the line, and will likely be better in another 12 months.

Biggest achievement is replacing 4 of the back 5 last season, and the players all being huge net positives. Porro, VdV and Vicario are all in the conversation for our player of the season, and Udogie has also been one of our better players.

However, the midfield and forward line do need some work. We need at least 3 starting players in that area (6, 8 & winger) and another striker option. If we do well with those transfers, we'll definitely improve next season.

Same areas that the Arse will probably look to strengthen.

Guess you’ll be happy with second best again.

Big Ange deserves better than Spurs.

He is a top quality bloke/coach. I really like how fun he made Spurs in the beginning of the season.

Not sure what happened down the line, they just probably played a lot better teams. Also Son fell off the face of the Earth.

Villa's turn next season.

Might be a bit premature for all this just yet. Nobody has a clue what is going to happen this summer let alone next season other than "Man City will be favourites for the league".

He doesn't want to be seen at the Etihad I guess. Cant they just take him to whoever wins the trophy by helicopter? Is he worried he will get hauled in front of a bunch of MPs again.

Ya I think I'm highest on Chelsea in terms of teams who could possibly get their **** together. Their injury lost this year was bonkers.

THe other thing about chelsea is they are in a bad spot with PSR, so that could have some unforeseen consequences.

I'm sure they can find the deeds to some properties they can sell to themselves for huge sums again.

I'm buying Chelsea stock for next season. Their insane injury streak + some incredible xg produced. If you can have Nkunku fit instead of Sterling being at the end of those will be massive.

They need to strengthen in defence and they are right up there imo.

We haven’t played this well in 3 months.
Timing it to perfection, or setting up humiliation at Wembley?

I think the positive is they don't really need to sign anybody to improve points wise. Obviously they're not in a spot to challenge for the title right now, but they could easily get top four without any major signings and a bit of better injury luck like you said.

I'm not sure who they could sell for any decent value if they do need funds though, someone suggested Sterling previously but nobody would come close to matching his salary (unless a Saudi team come calling) so why would he leave. Gallagher if they desperately need money I guess, but he's been really good this season + homegrown player so I'm sure they'd want to keep him

the psr stuff is more of an issue in that they might have to sell good players to satisfy psr, and get bent over doing so because everyone will know they have to sell. GL trying to negotiate gallagher with levy when he knows you gotta sell by june 30th or w/e the accounting deadline is, wouldn't wish that hell upon my worst enemy (actually i would **** chelsea).

I didn't realise their wage bill was 404m, I knew Sterling was on stupid money but loooooooool. Also apparently Leicester has a higher wage bill than Villa/Newcastle somehow, they're probably in trouble already

Yeah, really hope we get Gallagher. Chelsea need to sell him as his transfer will go on the books as pure profit, and £40m solves a big issue in our team.

It’s already established that they’re in trouble.
They’ll probably start the season with a points deduction.
