I would usually agree, but they have been starved over these years I think some decent football will do the trick even if they finish 7th.

They need to give this guy at least 2 years for rebuilding this. Offload like half the squad.

Think this is a better choice after Nagelsmann said "Topspur? Was ist das?"

Yeah, I think most Spurs fans will agree with this - at least the ones who go to games.

We're likely 7th best right now, so 6th with some decent football and taking the domestic cups seriously would be a step forward.

Presumably it depends on the status of the rebuild too. If spurs ship off Kane and lots of the dead weight and sign young players, I think people would forgive them a season or two of rebuild if it looks like they're going in the right direction.

If they roll it back with Kane/Son etc., the fans will probs expect more

Easy to be sanguine about a rebuild before the fact.

Gets much tougher when the reality of a rebuild shows itself, which includes things such as getting smashed to bits by rivals and occasionally losing 3-0 at home to mid table sides.

Eg Arsenal knew they needed a rebuild, but when rebuildy things kept happening they all wanted Lego pep's head chopped off

IDK if Spurs have that big a rebuild at least in terms of the aging squad narrative. We have a squad of 27 outfield players, of which 5 are aged over 27. Perisic hardly counts, Kane and Son are obviously important and Dier and Davies are whatever.

Our only positions of *need* are LCB and GK, and perhaps an CAM. if we sort those out, we have capable options in all the remaining outfield positions.

No idea what to think about Postecoglu. Feels like his methods are at least modern and dynamic and what I read about him I like. It's just an uphill battle.

Who knows how we'll **** it up.

Yeah but the average Spurs fan is much more well adjusted, intelligent and suave than the average gooner.

Yeah espcially in hindsight it is utterly childish and querulous to complain about top 4 trophies while rebuilding (a stadium)

I dont necessarily think its an old squad. Rather a Frankenstein's monster that was built by 3 managers.

Needs a clear idea and figure out who the dead weight are. Especially who are the players Conte talked about, the Dele Ali's of the team if you like.

This guy seems to be able to handle pressure/work with close to no budget. Think that will be enough for Levy and lol thinking that he cares if fans lose their ****.

I somehow think that the covid lockdown helped Lego Pep keep his head in those times. As the only place fans were disgruntled is twitter.

Not sure if this theory has any reality behind it, but I can't help to shake off the feeling that if stadiums were full, we might not have him as a manager.

Maybe the board would have been patient even if fans riot in front of the stadium? Although they pretty much have asking for Kroenke's head so idk.

Ern. What are you talking about?

We have maybe 5 good players lol. And one of them is Kane who is almost certainly gone in the next 12 months if not 3.

My darling...I absolutely hate to break it to you but you barely have any good players at all and the rebuild is going to be titanic, frustrating and brutal.

Conte isn't that great that the only reason we spent most of the season in the top 4 was him - the football was garbage and he made several players look a lot worse than they did under other managers or for their national teams (e.g., Richarlison, Son).

Where do you think we'll finish next season?

Most likely 6th-7th ish, few dots in the 3rd-5th range and a few 8th-9th.

If Kane leaves maybe as low as 10th-11th.

Also we ran super hot under Conte to stay up there. We are bad.

Idk latinas always told me they are just passionate like that.

Also seems like the Saudis are turning on the heat - Kante, Zaha. Superleague is closer than we thought.

We were bad at least in part because of Conte, not in spite of him.

I think we'll likely finish 7th next year, so it's somewhat arbitrary what we consider "good" players. I think we have lots of 'good' players. Even players like Lo Celso and Reguilón rarely had bad games for Spurs and seem to me to be players who might do better under Ange's system than Conte's.

Havertz to Real? Excuse me?

We should also sign up for some Chelsea players, guessing they will be remodelling heavily and there are a few nice catches in there.
