Ya I guess with Frankfurt competing for 4th and in knockout of cl with Jesper player a lot of minutes. Definitely will take more than 30m.

Transfer market has his value at 28mil euro but that's obviously not very accurate in many cases, but can many non pl league teams really turn down big xfers? 40m euro probably would get it done and slightly more than I'd want to pay.

In the least surprising football related story of the day, non-fat Ronaldo has contract terminated

Too good for this man child. I know they don’t want him poisoning anything around him, but I still think they should have just let him rot.

Ronnie said no to 17million in compensation - he is a much better person than me.

Like some PR stunt to save face seems likely? They would not turn down a compensation - likely United had some sort of card in their hands. Like the public slandering interview with Piers

From what I can read it's not that he turned down compensation. He agreed to terminate the contract so obv he shouldn't be paid out the remainder. He's free to continue working, why would he be due any compensation?

My understanding is "by mutual consent" means he gets to walk away at no cost for both parties.

Its a figure extrapolated from what he could be potentially owed had he taken the wages left on his contract.

Oh so he would secretly be overemployed and get a second job footballing in mls or the desert while simultaneously raking in the pounds?

No.

If it was not mutual consent, whatever United had to compensate Ronaldo would be a function of whatever wages he was still owed.

Because Ronaldo has agreed to walk he waives the right to try and claim such.

Everyone understands what happened and 'waives compensation' implies PR7 is like a sympathetic (not officially) fired manager of a club in financial predicament, rather than someone simply unwilling to keep working there (and not elsewhere), hence is owed nothing and has nothing to waive
