Have a look at arsenals outgoings. Total nightmare. I can’t remember the last time we sold a player and I was like “yeah that’s a decent price”. Lately we have been paying them to leave.

I think it’s more referring to players we remember them buying and then selling on.
So we’re going back to Anelka.

Man Utd bave been pissing money away for a decade. Pogba, Sanchez, Di Maria, Depay, Mikhi…

1 city
2 plop
3 spuds
4 arse
5 chelsea
6 West ham
7 Newcastle
8 Brighton
9 leicester
10 palace
11 wolves
12 United*
13 brentford
14 Leeds
15 villa
16 Southampton
17 Fulham
18 Everton
19 forest
20 bournemouth

*They look soo bad and I don't see a path for them to get significantly better.

At least Ten Haag's hair isn't likely to look a mess.

Think a lot of us are puzzled that after Mou and especially Ragnick spoke so openly about the glaring problems, somehow they managed to come into the new season with the very same problems. Just ignoring everyone that was warning that this was going to happen.

I don't know if they pushed Ragnick out of the advisory role or he just left after seeing that nobody making calls is actually listening to him.

They were stuck with the same drama and somehow added to it. If they are going to fight for top4 with this squad Ten Hag is a miracle maker or should go to Vegas in the summer to see if he can ride his luck.

The style of Ten Hag cannot possibly succeed with so many lumberjacks who are way too likely to lose possession in dumb spots, his teams position way too openly to get away with that. With his style and this midfield+defense they are more likely to end in the bottom half, than in the top four

It seems like the United higher ups didn’t take kindly at all to Ralf telling them that the squad is totally crap and rotten to the core with a complete overhaul needed (ie exactly the job they hired him for).

Pretty concerning that he’s going from an environment where a smart, competent team of people above (Overmars, VDS) would identify and bring in players for his system, to United, where Ragnick identified Nkunku and there wasn’t even a scouting report for him.

Seems like he’s already being put in a tough spot of being left to himself so all he can do is say “Uh, those guys Antony and Timber I had were pretty good. No? How about Lisandro?” etc etc.

There's very glaring parallels between arsenal and united post wenger/Fergie. Feel like united are where arsenal we're 2-3 years ago needing a complete restructuring. They've just had more money to throw at the problem in general.

With arsenal regarding selling it's kinda of tied to how poorly they bought from last year or two with wenger till now. Throw in some real mistakes with not selling ozil/Sanchez/Ramsey/resigning auba it looks wayyyy worse than it should have been.

This is pretty much it. He better be an exceptional coach because his imagination when it comes to transfers, in typical dutch fashion, seems limited to dutch/eredivisie/players he's worked with.

It’s just amazing how they threw everything out the window with Ralf because the players are children that aren’t good enough and Ralf speaking truths that the Glazers/Arnold didn’t like.

And now, they will Chuck bad money at it all and claim that they “spent” and “backed the manager”, when in reality that hasn’t happened at all. Overspending on bad players and not buying the players a manager really wants isn’t really backing a manager. It’s just bad management.

Think people might be writing Utd off too early. 12th?

I don't think they look good obviously but there's enough talent on the books (plus still have the rest of the month to buy, and January, and ETH obvs can coach) that they should be able to finish top 8, lol.

The big problem is the same problem United have had since they let Herrera walk. There’s no proper CMs. They were offered Kamara in January and could’ve moved on Zakaria (maybe still lose out to Juve, but nothing ventured, nothing gained) for cheap amounts. They could’ve signed Kamara on a free and while we don’t know how he’ll turn out, it’s not much to say that any 6 with a pulse and a desire to play some defense would be a massive improvement on McTominay. Yet, they haven’t bothered at all in that position and got overrun and dominated. It’ll keep happening as a 6 doesn’t generate a lot of IG likes.

There was basically one season where it wasn’t a major issue. Matic/Herrera/Pogba (like the only season he played 30+ matches) worked very well but it was fleeting.

It's incredible how many credible coaches have entered the fray and STILL failed to spot the most glaringly obvious problems. Trashford and McShaminay are barely mid table players or ever will be. GET SHOT

Not sure how often ex-keepers get CTE compared to outfielders, probably not too often, so I'll just have a few pints of whatever Rob Green's been drinking

Utd have never been particularly well run. Was easy when you could just go out and Bayern up all the best players in the league. Back in fergies day, taking Kane from Spurs would have been a formality. Now they are not even the best landing spot in their city never mind the country.

They never adjusted to losing their financial advantage, first through the oil club's, then the BLITW TV deals. Fergie saw it coming and jumped.
