lol didn't Woy say he retired after leaving Palace? I suppose if I can get a multi year deal for an inevitable three months work I'd do it too

I’m more than fine with either (or Haidara). We’ll still need at least 1 more CM in the summer, but anything is better than nothing right now.
Yeah fair enough, like I said I have no idea about either player, just going by what the twitterers say. Would be happy with anyone who relegated Matic to the stands right now, if he can break up the axis of McFred that's even better.

Nobody has said how long his contract is; it would suprise me if they're giving him a deal until the end of the year with a fat bonus if he keeps them up.

Now that I am old I have worked out what is stressful about work. It isn't the job itself, it is that you have to do it to keep money rolling in. You can take any amount of **** if you can resign at a moment's notice and not care.

Like you say, who wouldn't take that job? A couple of million quid for four months work. The worst thing he could do is keep them up and give them a reason not to fire him in May.

What are the odds he does not make it that far either?

Should have went with Fat Sam instead.

Also from recent links it seems like we put all our eggs in 1 big Vlahovic basket which is going to Juve with the standard Italian loan/dodgy accounting practices.

I cant wait for the 'january is a difficult market' presser... Maybe we should not have offloaded all senior players before getting replacements over the line? Just a thought.

To be fair, it seems like a relatively good strategy.

Prior: January is not a good time to be making significant signings.
However: this was an unusual situation where Arse were perfectly placed to make an offer when most clubs wanted to wait until summer.
Therefore: Empty to clip and see if it works.

Can't blame the recruitment team too much that Arsenal are a mickey mouse club who can't even qualify for the conference league.

The last paragraph seems a bit uncalled for.

I don't blame them much for Valhovic btw...

However it does not make apparently more sense to offload all senior players before making sure at least some bodies are walkong through the opposit direction.

Arteta seen at the Avs game with Kroenke.

Use your personal thoughts to fill in if that means anything beyond the chap wanting to watch a hockey game

Why though? 0 cup games, arteta isn't big on rotation. Everyone will be back for next match.

2 injuries and we have Patino/Eddie in the starting lineup.

If this figure is correct it would be loads for Arse to spend on a player with 18 months left on his contract.

No idea how Juve are paying for it when they're obviously skint.

He's barely gotten any minutes. I think it's a decent move and let's you reevaluate in the summer to go after a more desirable target than overpay for someone that might not be ideal. There's a lot of smart people who thought jovic was gonna be a slam dunk at Madrid then benzema just decided to go super nova and jovic couldn't get in the pitch.

Didn't they just buy Jovic after a supernova season in Frankfurt? Also he was loaned back to Frankfurt and scored 4?

Let's get Diego Costa instead he is a free agent.

4 year loan with 20million installments. Probably some unofficial loans towards Fio with some tricky accounting so both can balance books.

Although when we say it would be too much - how much is top4 worth? Think a significant investment now in a midfielder / striker (most important) could edge us over the line. I expect next season it will be a lot tougher given they will let Conte spend and United getting a new manager.

But we have been here before in better position in the Leicester season when the same reinforcement would have probably meant keeping pace with Leicester until the very end and potentially nicking it.

He barely played at Frankfurt but yes his numbers were underwhelming there. He's still like .65npxg+xa /90 in like 900ish minutes at Madrid when he's played. His breakout season at Frankfurt wasn't a huge over performance scoring 16npg orr 13xg. His passing and dribbling numbers are very good too.

Also you have to consider if this loan enables us to also buy a good cm we want in Jan compared to say a loan it could be huge. I think there's more cm options avail now than cf for buying that we want at more reasonable prices.

From the very little I've seen of him this seems like a good signing if we can get it done.

Surely Watford are putting buy outs in these contracts now? They could have paid Pep enough to leave City by now if not with all the managers they've fired

Can see why he would want to play for Juve. Gtd Champions League football which is something we cannot offer.

Just have to accept we are not that club we were 10 years ago.

What the ****? Orsic would singlehandedly save Burnley from relegation. Top8 on for next year too.

This is like signing Cornet, but better. Not sure why aren't better clubs after him? Does he have a gambling/drinking/temper problem?

Is he that good? As I say, not seen much of him at all other than the hat trick against Spurs and a bit in the Euros. If so, it does seem weird that it's such a low fee and there aren't clubs with more money (not better clubs!) after him.
