Re: English Football 2021-21 - Featuring the Aston Lions!!!

Two fun stats I saw this week:

Ronaldo presses 50% less than the second less active player in the EPL.
United has led for less time than winless Burnley this season

Re: English Football 2021-21 - Featuring the Aston Lions!!!

Think that's more a reflection of our new inability to see out a lead than Man Utd's failings. We've gone in front in five of our nine games so far, including leading for the best part of 70 minutes against Brighton.

Just looked and indeed, this is the case, we've also led for longer than:
Villa
Brentford
Brighton
Palace
Leeds
Newcastle
Norwich
Southampton
Watford
West Ham
Wolves

When Kane and Son are firing they are going to be able to give most sides a game. When they aren't they are fairly bland.
I know I'm jumping on the back a bit on the narrative parts, but Kane was really slugish in the games leading up to West Ham too - he was big time back vs Newcastle, but that is about it.

I fully expect him to start scoring, but I think the treatment towards him definitely affected his play in these first few games.

Also not sure if Nuno's tactics have an affect on how many dangerous spots he gets himself into, but he seems to drop deep a lot and take the ball forward/move it out to the wings and has considerably less opportunities near goal.

Maybe Spuds is struggling with the creativity and that is the main reason Kane has to drop back to offer something in those spots. I was a Kane FPL owner for 3 weeks where I followed this closely and it did frustrate me greatly.

Does the defense need a shakeup? Midfield more attacking with the inclusion of Cornet? What do you think the main reason for that is?

I don't see him surviving this fixture run. Especially based on the reports from he ManU camp that half the team is confused at the fact that he is still there.

Spurs meta game means they should try and lose?

I think we're waiting for the intl break to do it. Hopefully it's because they're trying to do a semi-proper search for a replacement rather than jumping Conte's bones immediately but I can't say I'm confident in them showing such signs of quasi-competence.

I kind of feel sorry for him having to turn up for those games after all the leaks yesterday about crisis meetings and the players not having any faith in him. Poor guy is the definition of dead man walking.

Spurs are 2.8 on saturday btw, fill yer boots lads.

I bet a good chunk on plop, but cant do the same for Spurs. Just an absolutely unpredictable game as both teams are kind of **** (rn).

In order for us to win we would need to score though.

He's been highly meh in the premier league but he's still scored like 11 in 16 in all comps or something this year, despite not playing well anywhere.

Just looks simply statue-esque and way off the pace, think he's a little frustrated in how we're playing but he certainly isn't helping.

I'm sure Maguire and Shaw will find a way to accomodate.

I'm not really sure. Seems to be a few more individual errors than normal (for example Tarks inexplicably passing straight to Diallo leading to Southampton's second on Saturday) and maybe age is starting to catch up on some of the squad. Whatever it is, we need to get out of it quickly.
