No chance Burnley go down. Defence keeps them up

Yeah think it'll be a dogfight between Norwich/Brentford/Watford/Palace, I hope Norwich/Brentford can stay up though.

Just ten more days before the new season, can't wait

Leeds fans, how would you rate the offseason? What are your hopes and expectations?

Not hugely bullish on us but think there are 4-5 worse teams as it stands. We're so thin at so many positions we could be easily rocked by an injury crisis

There's definitely a chance they go down, esp if they don't sign anyone. They're the least likely of that group though imo (but still more likely than soton).

I'll happy take money on Burnley going down, will offer better odds than bookies

edit: just checked bfex, Burnley to be relegated are 3.4 (12/5), i'll offer 3/1

Personally, I'd be happy to maintain a top 10 position, but the prospect of catching Arsenal and Spurs doesn't look out of reach.
I expect to see Rodrigo play more this season, so Bamford won't have to shoulder all of the load up front.
Firpo looks decent at left back and has made attacking contributions in pre-season.
Llorente and Koch will be looked at to cement a CB partnership which will probably mean we'll see less of Liam Cooper.
Raphinha and Harrison will continue to be the creatives on the flanks.

As far as team changes from last season, the first XI will be the same apart from Firpo replacing the outgoing Alioski.

I’ll take the Burnley side of that for $50-100 if you want

We'll go down eventually. I don't think it'll be this season but with Tarks and Dyche in the last year of their contracts and little sign of being able to sign players better than the ones we've got, it could well be the next one.

$100 at 3/1 sure can do

Just so there's no confusion, you're backing them to get relegated yes?

Thoughts on the new owners during this window?

I'm more bullish and have higher expectations. While the starting XI on paper is essentially the same except for Firpo I think effectively we are adding Firpo, Rodrigo, Koch, and Llorente to the lineup.

Rodrigo came late, got Covid, then got hurt

Llorente was injured alot in the beginning, and came on at the end. What was the issue with Koch?

Phillips missed alot of time

I'm hoping and expecting 5th-7th

Too early to tell. It doesn't seem like much has changed really, although it started well with the Collins signing. SD hasn't walked out yet, which he looked to be on the verge of this time last year.

Plenty of changes behind the scenes but nobody really cares about those unless they're going to help the playing budget down the line.

Might have to rethink the soton part now...

Of course not. I meant 8th or lower.

Ahhhh, my bad. I thought you were backing Burnley to go down. I feel like they will stay up this year (albeit finishing 16th or 17th)

Yeah I mean that’s fair, but the trend is that Leeds have been improving and I think they will be better next yea

I think West Ham will fall back, and no reason to think Everton or Aston Villa will be better

L City is no guarantee for anything, Vardy getting older

Arsenal will be good and Tottenham depends on Kane

No one else (other than the obvious top 4) has any chance to climb imo

Leeds also has the advantage that they aren’t playing in Europe

But all things considered and there was a gun to my head I’d predict a 7th place finish

So we may not be too far off if you think 8th or 9th but I think there’s a zero percent chance they follow the path of Sheffield United from 9th to relegation, or frankly anywhere near that zone

Bored shitless in bed so stuck Chelsea spurs on.

Chelsea look very good. Werner still can't finish.

I think there’s plenty of reasons to think Villa will be ahead of Leeds.
They’ve bought extremely well and now have a strong enough attack and midfield that they can afford to rest players when needed. We don’t have that luxury.

Ok yeah I think I agree, just one team though and if we are talking about 7th vs 8th vs 9th then we are not making much of a distinction
