Only 10 players younger than Saliba played over 500 PL minutes last year. He might not like the player, but theyre a 20 year old CB.

He'll be 21 when he's back from loan and cost £27m, Arsenal aren't shy about giving young players minutes. Plus going for White as well? Just feels like something's up, not liking an old regime buy maybe?

Oh wait Edu's still there, idk. If he didn't cost that much it'd be a non-issue

Saliba has played more top flight games than Ben White and the same amount of Ligue 1 games as Gabriel.

Seriously though, it seems like the biggest issue for Arsenal fans is the sunk-cost element of it. If he had cost half the amount then nobody would care. It's obviously very reasonable to object to poor recruitment, but you'd hope the manager/front office were making the best decisions with the info they have now, not trying to prove that their original investment was a good one.

It's not even a sunk cost though. He's a 20 year old CB who at worst will likely start the majority of games for Marseille if healthy. That kind of player is still valuable.
