In before Klinsmann.

Lol

Potter would come in half a second. I wish we’d hire him.

This is probably a step too far for now, however her co-commentary during the Euro's has been excellent.

Sexist?

I think it’s be great if she got the job. I’d actually root for her to do well. Would be massive for the game. It would genuinely be interesting to see how she deals with a male squad.

I don't think it's sexist, at least on my part. it's a very interesting question though.

I'm not sure the skills of a coach would necessarily transfer as women's football is different to men's football, although obviously we have no way of knowing either way. Plus, is she able to relate to a room full of men the same way she is able to relate to a room full of women? This works both ways. For example, I expect Mourinho would make terrible woman's coach, whereas someone like Southgate would probably excel.

My main concern would be that the Spurs job is hard enough as is. There would be a large proportion of fans (of all clubs) who would would be willing her to fail, and I just think for a high profile position it's a variable you can take out of the equation by just appointing a highly qualified male coach.

While these are the downsides, there are also significant upsides. I agree it would be massive for the game, massive for equality, and if we did go down that route I would 100% support the appointment. I'd certainly much rather have Hayes than Gattuso, ainec.

Yeh don’t disagree with anything you’re saying, I wonder how it’d effect the young men in the squad with a mother figure if you will.

Whether it’s right or wrong I also think arguments would be harder because you’re not exactly going to get right in her face seething, if she can get her ideas across there would kind of unique respect, at first anyway. It’s very interesting. Male coaches in other sports are all over them and I don’t see why it should be any different for football. It’s a very strange sport in that regard.

I mean, there are lots of great (relatively) male coaches in the female game. None of these get high-profile positions in the male game either. The reality is it's relatively easy to progress as a women's coach - I know someone who has done it.

I think it's reasonable to be somewhat sceptical as to whether top coaches in the women's game have sufficient skills or experience to succeed at the higher end of the male game.

On the other hand, there are many male ex-players who get decent gigs in the top 4 divisions with even less experience, so I guess it maybe comes down to who wants to be the first to take a chance.

If the deal falls thorough because Jesus couldn’t agree terms, the Man City fans will crucify him.

For me he hasn't performed these last 2000 years so he can't really complain.

Tottenham made a "dizzying" offer to Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui but the former Spain boss will not be going anywhere, according to the La Liga club's president Jose Castro.

Castro said Lopetegui had "received offers he'd not listened to".
