you're right but that striker is werner. He's been scoring around his xG overall his career, the fact that he underperforms his xG one season shouldn't make us requestion his finishing abilities

He’s just not very clinical, I don’t watch him enough to know if he’s just getting loads of chances because of his movement but from what I’ve seen of him he’s not great and is only able to stick it in the back of the net when he’s got time and space due to being offside.

That said, we need to sign a striker regardless, as Giroud and presumably Tammy are leaving, and Werner could probably play along someone else.

He's done so in the past, during his Leipzig time he overperformed over a 4 year period IIRC.

Even at Leipzig he was never a clinical finisher, though, but he'd make up for it by also scoring some worldies - and he did still put most big chances away. This season his finishing has been terrible, it's not even like his shots are close or getting saved in spectacular fashion, he just either misses the ball completely or hits it poorly or right at the keeper, or the post (which I think he's his more than anyone else in the league) - except for when he's offside. I hope he can turn it around, he seems like a good guy, and he works hard and is a team player, but he does need to finish his chances.

I'm not a xG slappy myself so I don't know what's the answer but I'd think strikers don't deviate too much from their xG over big samples and that good strikers are the ones that themselves in position to score goals. i just checked and RL9 has 203 goals for 201xG on understat, the website you need for your betting : https://twitter.com/10betSports/stat...10753428025356

our 3 mainly used CMs (Kante, Kovacic and Jorginho) have 6000 minutes played combined. They scored 0 non-penalty goals and got 4 assists. It's ridiculous how little they offer going forward. We definitely need to sign a CM, Jorginho/Kovacic are not good enough to be starters if we want to win the league IMO, and Kante can't stay fit over a whole season. Kanté is world class, while Jorgi/Kova are fine as depth/rotation/certain tactics players because they do some things well, but overall they just don't offer enough for either or both of them to be playing every game.

Also, if Werner isn't wanted at Chelsea, please stick him on the District Line Eastbound and send him to us.
