Christ, they really couldn't afford for that to happen.

Most of the numbers nerds seem to be of the opinion that Palace should have been relegation fodder for the last couple of seasons, suggesting that a) Roy was getting more than the sum of the parts, or b) They were running good.

Will be very interesting to see what happens now apparently neither are true.

For Eze here the pro move is to return to the Palace fold in March when they are already as good as relegated, turn in a couple of eye-catching performances and then get your big transfer during the summer.

I am told that JLingz to Dortmund is on. The fools, he has clearly used up all his run good, they'll just be getting the player that the Mancs used to complain about.

I think both were true but the shoe will now drop.

Lingz going to Dortmund so United gets Sancho is quite the play

This.

Now that they are back. What are the predictions?

They will do something about VAR amd its transparency and not subject the returning fans to the nightmare of standing around in the stadium not knowing what is going on.

Or they keep it as is with extended waiting times and little to no info about the decision.

They will not scrub VAR ofc, but at least they should change its implementation surely.

Also the offside/handball rule needs a look as currently the headless chicken method from South Park seems like a more consistent solution.

One thing the US guys won't get. The amount of parking they had in and around the Eagles/Phillies complex when I was around there was quite absurd, and that's a stadium with a rail link (find it ridiculous that the new Cowboys stadium is for all intents and purposes Uber or drive). Try to recreate that at Bramall Lane and you'd have to knock down all housing between the ground and Dronfield

Basically the difference is most american owners have scammed cities to build them an entire new stadium in the last 20 years while the English ones are obviously well older. Other than MSG and Yankee stadium (which they got rid of) the only American ones with a ton of history are fenway and Wrigley.

And the stadiums are purposefully in the burbs for most lately.

There's been lots of new stadia built here though, many out of town, and most of them don't just stick themselves with parking or nothing, most have some transport links, often built into the ticket price. Same in Germany.

Yeah, even the 21st century stadia in the UK have naff parking - Southampton and Arsenal immediately spring to mind. Never tried to drive but I assume the London stadium sucks to drive and drive around too (why on earth would you want to?!)

this is correct but mostly from two years ago where they ran incedibly hot and were particularly lucky in terms of getting pks and townshend having a great year

since then i'd say they've performed to expectations but are definitely winning flips ie there 60/40s are holding up consistently

pretty big gap between top 10ish and the rest of the league but there's still a bit of separation in that bottom group between the relegation guys and CP

it just boggles my mind they just sit in stasis each transfer window, i understand not selling zaha, but if they keep him they need to pair him with someone else who can work with him instead of the guys he works with now

but if they don't target good partners for zaha, they should definitely sell him and put money towards improving midfield and getting a tammy type striker who you just kick the ball forward to and they grab it and shoot

Tbf, they did recruit Eze last summer which is exactly the sort of thing they should have been doing for years rather than buying Ayew/Benteke types.

I don't really see the Zaha situation as having changed since the last time he was on the market. Nobody wants to pay the amount of £££ that it would take to get him and Palace don't want to get rid of one of their true quality players at a cut rate - he's contracted until the year he turns 31 so they've got good leverage.

When doing a silly Internet quiz on “what has nearly killed you?” I replied with “A robot “, my niece replied with “Pulmonary embolism “ and my brother replied with “Watching Port Vales defence “

I believe you can park at the shopping centre somewhere but getting out will still be a disaster. When we were at the Boleyn they deliberately made it impossible to park in the streets nearby, which isn't unreasonable, but it did make public transport worse. Essentially driving to pretty much any London side without some sort of particularly cunning plan on how to escape is a bad idea.

This is comical from Spurs.
We could finish above them at this rate.

Spurs fans probably wishing they still weren’t allowed in.
