Clubs do a ton of tests on players throughout the week and in between games. There is likely more info available to clubs about where players are in terms of potential to get muscle injuries then we know of.

It's just weird. Like, they broke their transfer record twice in 6 months to sign players that play in the same position. They went from having ~4 top half PL creative mf a couple seasons ago (Ozil, Mkhit, Iwobi, Ramsey) to their two best being Saka and Willian?

I think Tierney, Gabriel, Leno, Bellerin, Auba, Partey are CL quality starting players. I think Saka and Martinelli are among the better young players in Europe, but you can't expect them to save you right now.

That's 8 players I am confident on a £250m wage bill. Not great!

A few weeks ago I went through the table and put Arsenal as the ~10th best MF in the league. That's with a healthy Partey. If you have at best the 10th best midfield in the league, the other areas are going to suffer.

he's played in a back 3 sometimes which realistically he is too short to do as a long term position but hasn't really shown that he can be anything other than a "solid", dime a dozen full back

I watched a bunch of Leeds last year. We played them last year. They played better football vs us than ~80% of PL competition attempted.

But, there aren't 15 better FB, never mind LB in the PL than Tierney.
