That's a good question. Gonzaga has Drew Timme, who is just a great college basketball scorer(probably won't ever stick in the league) and he got so many touches as they just forced the ball to him over and over. He took a ton of shots in all 3 of their tournament games. But, if you look, CHET was decently efficient with his low amount of touches. He also had 4 blocks vs Memphis and 2 blocks + 14 boards vs Arkansas.
I've been watching CHET so long that I kind of blindly brush off things like this that others fairly have legitimate concerns over(he barely scored vs Texas early in the year too). He had a game in high school where he was teammates with Jalen Suggs and they were playing a nationally ranked team with a bunch of prospects and he just played defense all game and barely tried scoring too. Had like 10 blocks that game and let Suggs run the show. Then you see him later that summer play Emoni Bates in an AAU game and he puts up like 25-30 or something. He just kind of morphs into whatever role is needed of him which is kinda cool to me.
But to me it just seems so obvious his game is going to grow into a guy that averages 25+ because he's so skilled. Had he gone elsewhere on a team that didn't have a national player of the year offensive juggernaut like Drew Timme, we probably would have seen him score and carry a bigger offensive load quite a bit more like we saw yesterday in the summer league.
But I can see why it's a huge red flag. You certainly expect someone who is great to be great in the biggest moments instead of playing second fiddle and only attempting 7 shots or so.
