IDk what's wrong with Eddie Howe for Spurs. He's available, has a track record developing young players, plays good football, would be cheap and is fairly low risk - if it doesn't work out, he will not likely leave a smouldering wreck.

Gattuso would obviously be a terrible hire - if they went for him, I'd almost be surprised if he lasted the summer.

I think Spurs are dodging a bullet, but if you're already on your 4th choice in mid June...that's bad? I love to lol at Spurs, but a club of that size should *never* be on their fourth choice for a new manager. That is a huge organizational failure.

To be fair, it was Spurs who pulled the plug on Conte, Fonseca and Gattuso. Plus Poche would have come if PSG had been open to letting him go.

My first pick would probably be Potter, but he has a 5 year contract so that's not an easy deal to do and comes with few guarantees.

I don't disagree this should have been handled better, but the reality is there were very few candidates who fit the job description at the start of the process, and that remains the case.

Okay, so we pay Brighton £10m and hand him a £15m contract. He has a so-so season and Poche becomes available...

I think this is why we are looking to do a fairly cheap deal - we want the option of cutting bait when Poche (or someone else who is an excellent fit rather than just an ok fit) becomes available.

True, but then we can probably get an actual manager like Howe *relatively* cheaply.

Mason did okay, but also made some really bad decisions (e.g., Winks>Ndombele in the LC final).

Surprised so many people shy away to call Gattuso the absolute GOAT appointment.

The pressers alone would have been worth it.

I think Levy lost the plot for not hiring managers such as Potter / Howe as he seemingly just chases exotic options instead.

If you cant afford or convince any of: Nagelsmann, Rodgers, Flick, Ten Hag, Conte, Fonseca, how are you gonna lure Poch back from PSG (after sacking him)? He'd want lots of money and some sort of project.

Potter is absolute dream scenario at the moment and i have no clue why he would leave brighton for this mess unless he is being paid a lot of money.
