I know the fans were crying for blood, but maybe we should have just let him finish out the last year on his contract. We could have given ourselves another 12 months to put a plan in place to find a replacement, instead of hurriedly shoving the greatest person ever associated with our club out the door, scrambling to hire Emery and perhaps avoiding most of the absolute hell that has followed.
He probably "should" have walked after the FA Cup wins in either 2014, 2015 or even 2017. Any of those years we could have probably had any manager we wanted. But again...he had earned the right.
