Just gone out to do a quick emergency restock - bog roll nonexistant, bread nonexistant, but there's enough booze for everyone so this is fine
That's all you need mate, when you are drunk you can go and eat a kebab and crap on your neighbours lawn and if you get nicked they will have to provide you with food and toilet roll at the station. Win win me thinks.
Yeah, Germans are all in on toilet paper as well for some reason. We abolished the Gold Standard in the 20th century, a prominent post-apocalyptic video game franchise has bottle-caps as the prevalent currency, but in all actuality when **** really hits the fan, toilet paper is where the actual value lies. Who could have predicted that?
Funny about a week and a half in I'm already finding that with PES. All the different modes make it fun but I cant dribble like the better online players and dont have the patience to learn nor would I know where to begin. So I keep playing but I always beat a certain level and always lose to a certain level.
Also funny golf and baseball are the other two games I'd considered playing during all this. Does golf have a big online community and formats? Could be fun. Could also prob buy a cheap older version as its golf and doesn't really need to change much year to year. Was a big fan of the Show in college
PGA GC19 has a decent online community and is genuinely a great sim but short game and putting are genuinely realistic. At easy difficulty, I was winning every event in career mode but scores in-game regressed to my actual performance playing a round at the local club.
Varients of online modes are decent but the best part is playing on 'designed courses' because the engine allows you to design a full 18 hole course and some of the ones designed are freaking brilliant. If your design is fun - it gets a seal of approval from the game. To find online players - use courses certified by the game or trending courses. Regular courses are quite good anyways and I have found players every time I played.
re older game - Golf Club 2 is pretty similar to the latest one except for non-existent of PGA endorsement.
MLB The Show 19 was brilliant. I bought it after Cricket games sucked so much I only played 20 minutes and gave up lol.
The career modes are pretty good and the main one plays like a decent RPG but mainly, the whole game is pretty action-packed - in a good way but also a good simulation - Fifa series, for example, tries to keep game physics too realistic and no one cares about amazing 'graphics' when a bit of simulation makes a game look way more realistic and enjoyable and PES is defo better in that sense.
I haven't played The Show '20 but 2019 was a GOAT game. Golf Club 2 as the previous version of PGA GC'19 was called is not 2K sports I believe but PGA GC'19 is. Still, both games good - however GC 1 feels dated.
All Pool fans right now...
Minute 18' or thereabouts Oliver going nuts about Pool and suspension of the PL
-West Ham failed to negotiate first dibs on the stadium in summer so may not have a home if things have cleared up by then.
-Fifa may allow special dispensation for week-to-week rolling contracts for summer
-Potentially huge lawsuits coming from Leeds/West Brom if they don't get promoted, similar from Bournemouth/Villa if they get relegated
How many matchdays did the Prem lose from implementing the winter-break? 2?
These articles about voiding the season but crowning Liverpool champions are so stupid. They haven't won it. I really hope they find a way to conclude the season by finishing games. The worry that fans still gather outside the stadiums is missing the broader picture.
Factions of supporters from teams who lose out promotions or any big conclusions that don't come to pass, will be in an uproar and if the spread of the virus is still not slow enough by the time decisions regarding the season are announced - it would be silly not to expect reactions that involve crowds and protests.
Even if Pool had secured the title mathematically, scratching the season from the books but awarding them the title would amount to something worse than making the phantom '4th place' a real trophy esp if all other lower league and European comps are basically voided.
Given the current scenario, I'd still be down for behind closed doors matches/late conclusion and makes more sense to reduce no. of games in all competitions next season since it is hard to predict when the next season will start if this one requires a late conclusion or if the virus sticks around 2-3 more months.
Where do domestic Cups and CL, ECL season or CL qualification lie in this spectrum, I don't know - there are objective ramifications for all clubs but subjectivity is a helluva drug. It's not just about one team.
As for concluding rest of the season in empty stadiums - Are players going to feel exploited for finishing behind close doors (since that still puts them at higher risk, not to mention it still gives fans incentive to go to pubs or stand outside the stadium in hordes - even if it for a few crucial games it still beats the purpose of taking precaution) the sentiments among players will be borne out of discontent stemming from 'TV rights' and League bosses minimizing commercial losses OR they might feel 'it's the right thing to do for the spirit of the game' - either way, polarized POVs which are both equally wrong will create discontent.
So what if one season is banished from the record books. Football will continue. 1 season out of the many that have passed and the many yet to be played is insignificant.
PL top bosses just need to figure out fair compensation because that is the only tangible long term affect to teams (esp lower tiers) and any team on the polar ends of league tables.
/season
Of course, it would be disappointing (I want United to get into CL or see how far they go in the cups way more than giving a crap about Liverpool winning the title) but gotta keep things in perspective.
I saw a tweet from a journalist (can't remember who) but it basically said that they'll find a way to finish the season because otherwise they'll be facing some massive lawsuits from clubs. The money on offer for promotion, European places, etc, is so massive now that it's inevitable there will be lawsuits if they don't conclude it.
Out-of-contract players could sign weekly deals if coronavirus delay continues
Players out of contract on June 30 will be permitted to sign week-by-week deals should the football season extend beyond that date.
It is believed the FA and FIFA would grant special dispensation for short-term rolling contracts. But one inevitable repercussion would be the potential cost of securing a player if a team is chasing honours, such was promotion or silverware. “You can guarantee agents will demand lucrative bonuses for themselves and their player if he is seen as crucial to club’s success for that immediate goal,” said a source.
There are 69 Premier League players out of contract this summer, including Willian, Adam Lallana, Ben Foster and Jan Vertonghen.
One agent said of his player: “If he’s offered a short-term deal I’ll reply by demanding a four-year contract!”
Recommendations for somewhere to **** off to for a fews days with a couple of hours from London? Three people, two dogs, looking for an AirBnB not in a big city. Want to relax, go on some hikes, maybe visit a cool castle if there's one around. Could be somewhere like Whitstable or a cottage in the middle of nowhere, preferably with a pub in a ten or so minute walk.
The Peak District just about falls in that radius. I'd advise staying anywhere near Castleton, as that's where all the best walks are (Kinder Scout, Mam Tor, Ladybower Reservoir).
I'm off to The Lake District with the missus in a couple of weeks. Lots of people cancelling holidays in The Lakes so there are some bargains to be had on cottages, and I may as well be isolated there than here.
^so much this. My governor just shut down all Bars and restaurants for the next two weeks. It’ll get extended for sure, but people were dumbasses and didn’t listen to him before St Patrick’s Day and we’re partying away like nothing is happening.
