Why do people have this belief that if a player signs a contract it means he’s not going to leave?

#bigfacts

Contracts are pretty much meaningless as far as staying with a team..

p sure Suarez and Coutinho signed contracts that would still have them at LFC

There are many cases where players have left shortly after signing contracts, but I think it is fairly obvious that it dramatically reduces the odds of a player leaving. And it virtually guarantees that the selling club will get top dollar if they do leave (which is part of the reason it reduces the odds).

So much this that IDK why there are even any other comments on the matter.

there's also the flat fact that if real or whoever were planning a £150m + 400k/week offer this summer for kane then his agent would know all about it, so he'd most likely not have signed a spuds deal which would prevent such a bid from succeeding

I don't think that. I just think he's not going anywhere this summer.

Well, I think (and hope) you are correct, but right now you can still wager -650 that he stays with Spurs, or +550 that he ends up on Real.

Only 6/1 odds, and we all know Der Markt is NEVER wrong..

Here's the 2018-2019 PL PEEHS.

markt is wrong every time, things happen or they dont and not once in history has any markt correctly priced something as having a 100% chance of occurrence
07-20-2018 , 12:19 PM
That is the best argument against der markt I’ve ever heard actually.

Compelling.

They do it all the time, if you expect deflation then you can make a killing

you would think so but coutinho signed a new deal 4 months before barca tried to spend €120m on him as the next iniesta. real madrid are roughly 100 times smarter than this group of barca directors but there are definitely some dumb as **** football clubs

Also looking for some action on Wolves, even though I think the market is really overvaluing them.
Preferably point spreads vs other teams.
Let me know if anybody wants anything.

Off to Mansfield tomorrow for no reason other than it's a new ground. Going to push to get up to 70 this season

quiz time, try to guess which premier league manager this was written about

Quote:
In keeping with his relentlessly sullen demeanour that has defined his time at [club], [manager] was at his wallowing best at the press conference, complaining about the squad he has at his disposal, making veiled comments about players and groaning that the Premier League is against him. Essentially, it smacked of a man who doesn't trust his players and is getting the excuses in early for another season of failure before a ball is kicked.
