I don't think Jorginho sucks, but I think he definitely is not good enough to build a team around if you want to be competing for titles. That is what Sarri is trying. Also going to pour one out for the few people who thought Higauin would fix this mess.

Fantastic weekend if you're not involved in any of the cups/title race. Some real classic moments all over.

Topped this morning with JWP being brought into the England squad with Delph Stones and RLC not joining up.

Matt Ritchies goal was a belter as well.

I think he's a very good player and iirc was getting rave reviews when Chelsea started the season well. Their main issue is reliance on hazard for chance creation. Think it's time to give CHO an extended run.
Is Kante better then Busquets, Verrati, Casemiro? They all play in the same position.

Kante is the best in the world at what he does best. Which is covering incredible amounts of space, breaking up attacks, and helping his team win the ball back. That's not what Sarri wants in that position. He wants someone to dictate play which Kante is not anywhere close to best in the world at and is nowhere near as good as Jorgino is.

The question Sarri should be asking if he is to persist with his system.

What I don't get re: Sarri is how he's hired in the first place then?

Shouldn't the interview begin with, we have two world class players, Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante. How can you (potential managers interviewing for this job) and your system maximize our best assets?

Which is a legitimate question. One would assume that he did some homework before coming in and realized that the makeup of the squad wasn't really suited to how he wanted them to play.

Of course, we can't write him off yet. Pep's City wasn't really that great his first year with everyone calling him a fraud and how his style wasn't suited to the PL. Klopp's Liverpool took a couple of years to get to where they are now. It's a combination of the new system being installed and the managers getting players that are suited to how they want to play.

Roman has always wanted Chelsea to play entertaining attacking football. It's why he hired Felipe Scolari way back when, why he tried to get Pep, and why he hired Sarri.

chelsea garbo obv, but they are also on pace to better their xG and xPts vs last year

also on pace to better real pts and real GD if you're into that sort of thing

sarri got his timings badly wrong, should've lost a load of games early on (conte's fault), and then had his good streak march/april (look how he's turned this pos team around)

grabbed from euro thread, just sickening

When he retires they should compile and professionaly edit all his beautiful goals, with or without voiceover career/team prize narrative. I'd pay to watch that feature length film trilogy on the big screen.

baids, whats the game for the next 2 weeks to get us through the difficult time of international break?
03-18-2019 , 04:08 PM
In future we should run a competition to name the England starting XI when the squad is initially announced. One point for each correct, 2 points for picking a player who isn't named in the original squad.

Solid comedy comment on blades forum in "If Preston doesn't go to general sale I will go to the state mosque in Qatar and get my knob out on the steps", as we sell out 5600 tickets two days before it would have gone to general sale

ITV right now is what international breaks are all about.

Ben Bloom (who has quietly got a reputation of being super knowledgeable on the Championship despite being an Ipswich fan) breaks down the promotion run in

Thanks for that. Pretty much how I look at it.

Cant wait for him to face some real defenders in Lindelöf and Young. Also an out of breath Matic should be a fun viewing experience against the Barca midfield

Not sure what's more upsetting. The amount of talent we've lost, the money we've wasted, or the fact that this was five years ago which makes me feel old af.

Totally forgot Alderweireld was at Soton. Pretty ridiculous when you can add van Dijk, Lallana, Shaw, Bale, Oxlade-Chamberlain and prob others I forgot.

The mighty Callum Chambers of course.
