Jorgingo seems good but as said, if he doesnt work with Kante in his best position he *doesnt* work because of this.
I'm not expecting him to win us the league, but I'm expecting him to be a striker that is at least capable of scoring goals. Our situation is more than dire. He doesn't have to outscore Kane, but our two current strikers have made 23 goals combined in 73 games (counting Giroud in Arsenal) since the start of the 17/18 season. If Higuain can just be a threat and average 0.5 goals or in near that range he would still be a MASSIVE improvement.

Additionally people forget Higuain is actually pretty hard working and good in the build up play as well. We need a striker, and even if, in the long run, Higuain isn't the solution, he sure as **** is like using duct tape to seal a leak rather than using toilet paper.

Also people who say Kante is suffering because of Jorginho can't possibly be watching us much. Kante has actually looked incredibly strong in the B2B role, his passing and especially dribbling increased rapidly this season. Also, we really need him for the pressure which is key, because Hazard does not pressure as much as should normally be required in Sarri's system. Kante has been immaculate in his role this season, I don't think any Chelsea fan who actually pays attention would dispute that. Yeah he's probably a better CDM because he's the best CDM in the world, but he is definitely still world class in B2B and have been our best player of the season imo (or at least on par with/extremely close to Hazard), and he'll likely just continue to improve. The real issue is that with him as the more hardworking player who also drives the ball (which he does more than one would expect) Kovacic needs to do something else than just dribble and make short passes in the midfield. We need a true 8 or a hardworking 10 instead of Kovacic and our midfield would essentially be perfect, at least the styles would gel, because right now we're playing with 2 6s and nobody to control and orchestrate attacks in a central midfield position.

Kante being "world class" in the B2B role is one of the hottest takes I've seen for a while. The guy has 3 goals and 2 assists all season, to put that into context Xhaka has 3 goals 1 assist and gets as many key passes etc

Second bolded is precisely what Jorginho is supposed to be doing.

United are going to get 4th and OGS is going to be named permanent manager. Chelsea and Arsenal just aren’t consistent enough.

Humanitarian Pep: "I'm not going to send someone to Huddersfield if that is the question."

Its the Roberto Di Matteo effect where they don't really want to but feel they have to.

Think Chelsea and spurs hold them off in any event.

I for one am absolutely loving OGS. I doubt he's doing anything groundbreaking at united (and the fixture list has been pretty kind to him so far) but simply turning up with a smile on his face and encouraging his talented squad to play with confidence and enthusiasm seems a good place to start after the horrors of the post-fergie era so far.

His part nordic, part manc accent is fantastic too. Not quite on the level of Jan Molby's viking scouse, but enjoyable nonetheless. I'm more than happy to root for united while he's in charge.

Its a pretty big win for baids. Basically just say to pogba, martial, rashford to go play.

I'm not gonna try and fix any tactical defensive issues but we will still beat most teams with our attack.

He did inherit some hilariously bad strikers though. Maybe higuain will solve it
Higuaín will solve the surplus at the canteen

Spurs will get 3rd but I’m not sure if Chelsea will score enough goals to stay in 4th. We’ll see what effect Higuaín has after he joins but they just don’t look great right now and based on what Sarri said after the game the players there don’t really seem to care all that much.

United fixtures have been a cakewalk since OGS took over. Variance gonna vary.

I mean mendy has barely played, Danilo sucks and walker/stones are hardly amazing. It’s a nice narrative but not sure it’s too accurate.

even if you toss all those lads aside as valueless, he still got a top CB and GK out of the splurge

which is huge

Surprised Spurs away is still classed as a cake walk but there you go.

He doesn't mean how they turned out, he means as it was perceived at the time.

Also, all three of those are really useful squad players. Having the luxury of dropped £50m on a player that may become a superstar but at worst has rotation value is very big.

Mahrez not even in the team. Gundogan starting.

I wake up every morning and pull up twitter to only hope I see gundogans useless ass apart of some transfer rumors.
01-20-2019 , 08:43 AM
He also bought Bernardo btw.

And stones has proven to be pretty damn good.

Oldham looking at another of giggsys mates.

He's right though. If you don't agree it's because you're not watching games which seems consistent with your method of "sort by scorepoints and compare with one other player at similar position who takes set pieces".
