So on the new statsbomb podcast they talk about how their new xG model with the better data they've collected that accounts for defensive and keeper positioning has Burnley at 9th/10th from last season as opposed to most naive xg models have them at 15th/16th.

it was dumb, but it seems wild that it set off such a heated debate. people were hanging out with putin all world cup and nobody really cared. dictators and criminals own football clubs and are mostly welcomed. half the big names in football got paid to be ambassadors for qatar 2022 and so on. everybody kills people. i doubt özil has that many political convictions anyway.
