surprised so many ppl are putting Chelsea in the top4

they'll could swap Hazard & Courtois for Navas, [some player they don't want], and cash
could swap Morata for Higuain [and hopefully some cash]
will then will prob dump Batsman because we have Giroud
Sarri might sign Mertens to replace Hazard (or barring that, Martial?)
others like Kante & Willian could also leave, only to be replaced by ???

oh and they have like 3 weeks to sort all of this out
but since there's so little time they might just hang on to a bunch of unhappy players and sort it out later
could be a total mess

at least most ppl seemed to think that the Jorginho signing was a good one...
(sounds like CB Daniele Rugani could be in from Juventus, which is sure whatever, guess they could use another defender)

and hopefully they hang on to a few of their promising young players for a change

I think City will definetly finish in the top 4 and probably win the league.
One of Spurs, United, Chelsea, Liverpool will finish outside the top 4 depending on how they run with injuries.
Arsenal will probably have a rebuilding season.
Its impossible to pick who goes down in this league, might as well pick 3 random teams.

EDIT: I would leave out Everton from the relegation lottery because they are in their own special tier.

Manager watch

West Ham success depends imho on whether Pellegrini can get a good midfield that passes the ball. If they can get him that then he will do good things for West Ham and he will get them in the top 10. If he struggles with the midfield then it will be a long season.

Bielsa obviously doesnt have enough tactical nous to make it at the top of european football but his methods could work wonders in the championship. I also think that his biggest asset by far is his ability to coach young players which should be an incentive for the big clubs in the PL to loan their players to them. I dont have a clue at how Leeds are doing their summer business.
In spite of all the hate Leeds get I will be their fan this season.

My Burnley prediction is that they barely scrape the first round of EL qualifiers against some random macedonian team before losing to the team that finish second in the austrian league in the next qualifier.
Then they finish 16th.

We play Aberdeen in our first EL qualifying round.

And I'd take 16th.

Any non Celtic scottish team is basically a random macedonian team.
Btw thats a good draw for your lot football wise because of the logistics but probably a bit boring for the fans.

Honest question, are the points you get for participating in the Premier League enough to get you seeded for the EL qualifying rounds ?

I believe we're seeded for the first two rounds then unseeded for the "playoff" before the group stages, unless a few seeds go out in the first two rounds.

Would've preferred a more exotic tie, we play preseason friendlies in Scotland every other year or so anyway. Tickets for the home leg aren't selling very well but the away leg is sold out.

though like half of the comps were way off, it's worth it for all the predictable jimmy ru$tling

if the former was intentional to get the rest of us, then bravo

Val - central midfield is our weakest area. Eek.

Looks like the market have finally cottoned on that Burnley aren't a terrible side. Gonna have to find other ways to make money off you mugs this season.
I'll have Burnley to get relegated at market odds if you want the other side.

Oxlade-Chamberlain out for the season. Poor bastard.
07-18-2018 , 03:44 PM
Even with Ox out we can actually field a bench of legitimate first team players for like the first time ever:

GK: Alison, Ward, Karius
RB: TAA, Clyne, Gomez
CB: VVD, Lovren, Klavan, Matip, Gomez
LB: Robertson, Moreno, Milner
CM: Henderson, Fabinho, Keita, Milner, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Shaqiri, OX when fit (then Grujic, Woodburn, Jones, etc...)
FWD: Salah, Firmino, Mane, Origi, Solanke, Woodburn

First XI for me prob:

Alison
TAA-VVD--Lovren--Robertson
Hendo--Fabinho
Keita
Salah--Firmino--Mane

The OP is good, lol at euros who are so insecure that yank comparisons trigger them.
