Man City need to stop buying multiple players for a few years and actually get the players they have to start learning to play with each other.
When Man Utd dominated, they only made 1 major signing a year and let the rest of the team work around them until they bedded in.

Different ball game now though.

Back then we could go to virtually any team in the league - what Bayern do and get players. Now we can’t and there is more competition.

We have taken Kane, Walker and Alli this summer 10-15 years ago etc

You’ve now basically got 4,5,6 clubs who’ll pay massive wages and big fees (maybe not Arsenal to be fair).

You’ve also got the issue of short term success.

Spurs moving stadium now, Arsenal wouldn’t be able to replicate their successful move - financially that is - if they where to move now or even a season or so back. They wouldn’t be able to walk to CL money. Villa with a bit of backing isn’t even in the same stratosphere as what you have now.

We are still miles behind the best, amazing really considering the money we have spent but a lot of that has been poor.

Agree bandit we should be going for vvd as well.

And so much for matic freeing pogba.
Matic was maybe our best player tonight and Pogba maybe worst. I don't know if you can read into the future potential much from this one game in fairness.

Yes we are still miles behind the best. But we aren't miles behind anyone in the PL. We should be challenging this year.

I think so too, don’t expect any PL club to do anything in the CL this year - just too far behind with a competitive league. City will be lucky to get to the semis

My knowledge is weaker this year and therefore less confident in my prediction skills for this season after nailing* last year's table:

Club World Cup: Real Madrid

Success Table:

1. Chelsea
2. City
3. Everton
4. Arse

As for chelsea, bit disappointed with our window as mentioned in other thread. Maybe 4th is too low but hazard / bakayoko don't start the season and there's some tricky games in the first six. Maybe I underrate the fact that we have a strong / solid system and that might carry us through scraping points early doors. Rarely concede first goal plus good game management - I'm not concerned about an early season collapse like two years ago where defence was all over the place from the off, conceding a bunch of chances. You could argue City were maybe a slightly better side than us last year anyway, brought in players to fix their leaks and potent players are ready to start the season - if they can continue to run bad then we have a chance but think we won't have enough over the season. Chuck money at Bale though and that 4th is a confident 1st. But that isn't happening. Think I might be underrating spuds too, not sure. Hope united finish 5th/6th again.

*puts TP on ignore.

Does anyone ever reference this site for injury news: http://premierinjuries.com/

If so is it fairly accurate? City's stuff all appear to be in line but not sure about other clubs

Homerism aside and barring injury, one would think aguero and Jesus print goals this year with KDB silva and Bernardo serving them up. Plus there's the part where kolarov and Jesus navas won't be flinging in limp dick crosses. Haven't looked at the o/u but would imagine the over is a good play

People bullish on Everton. Really don't see it

If you believe this I'll take a Plop top 4 bet, 5th push, 6th you win if you wish. Market odds if they are available

I'm looking for LFC handicap v every good team but City for $25.

Also looking to fade Everton if anyone (LO) is interested
08-08-2017 , 09:47 PM
Yep. Everton will have a bad year. I'm nearly sure of it. Lukaku is a beast and they didn't spend it well. Barkley still to leave too (not that he is all that good)

They need Pickford to be worth 8-10 pts

lol Arsenal
