Eh, £180 million is only £40 million per year for 4.5 years. Nbd.

What's the point of having var when they blow the game dead on close offside decisions. Surely let them play then use var if need be. Unless they're clearly off

I think it's from a UEFA report that features all kind of stats, but anyway here's a daily fail writeup

Walcott not having played at a World Cup is amazing. Injured in 10 and 14 I assume?

Batshuayi doesn't seem to be keen on a transfer if tonight's performance is anything to go by.

Isn't this kind of thing more likely to get him sold? [albeit at cut-price rates]

It won't convince anyone to buy him. Apart from maybe David Sullivan.

I think Chelsea have cloned David Luiz.

League One's figures are going to drop off a cliff now we're not single handedly accounting for a large percentage of that figure. Would be even worse if Bradford and their ST deal got promoted

This Norwich side hit the deck rather easily.

As an aside Swans beating Wolves even though the visitors are playing a weakened line up is a bit of a surprise

They were bloody awful in terms of petty fouls and time wasting in our first game this year. Kind of hoping this goes to extra time and they get someone sent off ahead of the away leg on Saturday

Pedro doesn't play for Norwich

Diving to win a penalty in a game where all penalty decisions are automatically reviewed is ... interesting.

Not sure VAR is there to do the referees actual job but more so to help them get the big decisions right. Nobody wants a video replay on every close offsides call.

Iirc he was somewhat controversially overlooked in 2010.

2014 might have been the year he did his acl in the 2-0 FA cup game v Spurs??

No of course which is why I don't think it's gonna work. Because to get the big decisions correct you need to see the replays. Like in the Chelsea game, if they had played on Chelsea probably score. Var would have said onside. Goal... But they blew the whistle so the play was dead. So kind of a big decision which they got wrong.

I don't care about the decision, just concerned it's either gonna be fairly pointless as we know for a fact officials get loads of decisions wrong or gonna result in endless var reviews ruining the flow of the game if they implement this.

@ re Feo

Sven should have brought him on in ET in 2006. That's the only decision of Sven I have as wrong/-ev over his whole England career. You brought the guy there exactly for this ... ffs now pull the trigger.

(I take not briefing about Ronaldinho's free-kicks as something on the GK coach - thought arguably a Wenger would have been attentive to even such micro details.)
