Possibly but I'd be surprised if there was something huge that proprietary models have that the free ones don't. If there is a difference in public vs team analytics, in baseball for example, it's mostly about access to a different kind of stats than about the formula itself.
I hockey, the claim "teams have their own analytics" has been uttered so often in defense of terrible decisions that it's kind of become a running joke.
