Yeah maybe add the list of posters+ clubs supported to OP for newcomers. Remember to tell everyone to avoid any financial arrangements with Cashy too.

poster 8 bus has moments of straightforward humour, but the primary goal of poster 8 bus is to vent bile in a humorous way

contrary to the furious person illusion upon which meltdown poasting is built, poster 8 bus' generally maintains a high level of self-awareness and control

poster Lost Ostrich also dabbles in bloke who loses most of his bets school of poastings (prominent example, riverman)

the primary goal of poster Lost Ostrich is to help people laugh and enjoy their community experience. note: as a chummy pal, poster Lost Ostrich will rarely make a joke at someone else's expense

poster Lost Ostrich will argue with others, but will never make it personal

as is often the case for chummy pals, very few people will have anything negative to say about poster Lost Ostrich

poster Cina Rocket is well known for introducing the useful phrase 'community experience' into forum vernacular and in fact sportingly uses the phrase often, revealing a sense of humour and a high level of self-awareness. one might say he has reclaimed the phrase

poster Cina Rocket is also known to post heavily in NBAland, although what goes on in that backwater wilderness is anyone's guess

* Enjoy to a lesser extent Henderson, Sturridge, Wijnaldum & Milner.
* Thoroughly enjoy that they have a guy whose name is basically American.
* I seem to like red uniforms, & I enjoy their new alternate uniforms much better than those fluorescent things.
* I get confused by everyone's opinions on their manager, but I think he's pretty fun.
* I think Anfield is a cool name for a stadium.

Liverpool cons:

* Not really that into Lucas, Matip, & Mignolet.
* Agnostic on Firmino.
* Name contains the word "liver".

United pros:

* Strong tradition.
* I like DDG, Pogba, & Bailly.
* I like to a lesser extent Rashford, Rojo, Martial, & Shaw, & think the Lindelof signing might be useful.
* Red uniforms, USA #1 sponsor.
* I think Old Trafford is a pretty cool name, too.
* On TV a lot, plus endless budget.

United Cons:

* Strongly dislike Rooney & Fellaini.
* Also not into Blind & Jones.
* Almost feels like rooting for the Yankees.

It's united obv. All feeder clubs are contractually obligated to hate their parent clubs rival. Plus, I also believe it's true that in England the tradition is for a club to have a rival that is actually very far away if possible. That way you hate having to go there even more.

Either that or everyone has Cardiff as biggest rival cuz everyone hates the welsh.

Did some research & according to random surveys that I'm sure carry no statistical significance...

Liverpool fans say their biggest rival is:

Man United 72%
Everton 22%
Chelsea 5%
Arsenal 1%

Manchester United fans say their biggest rival is:

Liverpool 65%
Man City 20%
Arsenal 10%
Leeds United 5%
Well, then you'll never guess who's the biggest rival of Arsenal's. When polled, over 50% of Arsenal's fans say their biggest rival is

Spoiler:
Wenger out

A slow pony two-bit club at that. Couldn't have sacked Puel a month sooner to jump on Marco Silva train? The Saints and Silva are a good match imo.

Sure you have Spurs-Arse-Chelsea in London, but other than that, not so much.

Look at a map and Southampton and Bournemouth are right next to each other, but I don't believe fans of either team consider the other their rival..
This is hilarious and hilariously wrong. There basically aren't any massive rivalries in US professional sports. I guess Yankees/Red Sox, Cubs/Cardinals? Packers/Bears? Steelers/Ravens? Nothing that approaches the big rivalries in the UK though.

College sports is a whole different matter.

Welcome Jmurd. I think city is the most likable big team (other than Spurs but obv your not gonna pick them), but follow your heart.

Hang on, why are Chelsea above City in the 2017-18 descriptions? Surely it's in order of favourites for the league? FAVOURITISM FOR THE LOSE.

It's in there...could be helpful since every discussion I've ever read basically just says "we" & it can be confusing.

Golden rules of the thread (to be updated with your suggestions) :

•Don't talk about spend, talk about net spend
•Do not post about scottish football (really)
•Do not engage with RITS
•Do not escrow if you happen to be super busy

Have a great community experience everyone and let us Premier League!

I like City also...I have issues with some of their players, though, specifically Zabaleta. That guy is weird. I'm also not big on Toure/Navas/Silva/etc & I feel like it's weird that they have so many random slow old people floating around. I also wasn't a fan of Bravo, but I take it he's getting replaced?

I like Agüero, De Bruyne, Sané & Jesus, though. If they phase out the old guys they could be a contender...not sure how I feel about powder blue "kit", though, & I have mixed feelings about playing at a place called "the Etihad".
