Danny Rose is back in training! Looks like The Sun paid him with a year's supply of McDonald's though...

All muscle mate.

More importantly, Lamela is also back in training.

Exactly the option we need off the bench right now.

Not sure I understand this but I think it means more competitive international football matches, but the same amount of international breaks?

Yeah this format is a huge mess and it won't reduce the number of breaks. Also, how competitive these matches actually will be is questionable imo.
10-12-2017 , 06:26 AM
But the teams in pot 1 will play the teams in pot 1 right? So more instances of France vs Germany etc. without having to wait 2 years for a big tourney?
10-12-2017 , 07:42 AM
Yes. I think it's a pretty great idea with the main flaw being lower division teams getting a potentially unfair chance to qualify for the Euros ahead of teams from higher chances with second chance spots.

Should see not only more good matches between top teams but also gives the minnows a chance to play eachother competitively which they must be crying out for.

It needs refinement but the idea is good imo.

If it turns out to be competetive then yeah. I kinda suspect they'll be glorified friendlies though.
10-12-2017 , 08:14 AM
For the A league teams, it seems like too much trouble for 1 spot.
But I do like the idea of 1 D league team getting a place in the Euros.

I can see a world where glorified friendlies are better than the current qualification system.

Obviously except the final gameday, that was epic.

1 team from each league getting through (including D) is the dumbest thing I have heard. There are going to be so many matches where it is in the best incentive for a team to lose and drop down a division. Rewarding failure can never be good.

If any of the group B teams relegate twice in a row, they are going to be >85% to qualify via group D. They are less <85% to qualify now.

hopefully the bbc shove garth crooks out there to explain this competition

THIS.

I must have completely missed it, but what happened to Vincent Janssen?

Is he still on the team? Injured? In hiding?

It will be nice to get Danny Rose back, but a healthy Lamela will be the biggest addition and will sure help the goal scoring off the bench in the League and Champions..

He's banging them in for Fenerbahce (on loan).

Think he's done as a Spurs player.

Thanks for the info.

Sure will be nice starting up again on Saturday.

These AIDS-soaked international breaks are just the nut low..compounded by USA#33's embarrassment..

Their front 3 is Janssen, Roberto Soldado and Robin Van Persie.

Somebody on their transfer commitee must love FM with a passion

-----

We lost Kos/Mustafi for the game vs Watford. Kolasinac questionable.

This means Monreal-Merte-Holding back 3 with a possibility of Niles playing as a wikgback.

Both teams to score it is. Also Watford is worth a punt @5.25

I don't share Nic's optimism. Nothing to suggest we're any better than 4th, 5th, 6th again. Also no way Jose can resist reverting to type and playing 3 CB's.
