As if scoring 3 goals was positive variance but having 3xG wasn't...
10-03-2017 , 04:40 PM
Not long until players miss penalties on purpose for rebound opportunities that inflate their xG

Ronaldo has 2 > 3xG games in the last three seasons, Messi's highest is 2.5 xG.

Ronaldo's best was 3.5 (no pens) and he scored 5.

All from that understat site you linked me to the other week.

I've been listening since it started last season. I can get over Widdicombe factor in favour of the superb guests they've had. Miles Jacobsen from Sports Interactive was excellent as was Jim Rosenthal.

The started it as just the right time. The Magic Sponge was getting rubbish.

For a more general sport pod, I love the Savage, Flintoff and the Ping-Pong Guy podcast on BBC. Flintoff may be a good friend of Savage, but he takes the piss so well.

hmm this isn't really a like-for-like comp, they are v different imo. I love that Son is direct and agree he's underrated among Spurs' goofy fanbase but jeez, what Dele does for Spurs wrt shape and vision and overall menace is just not getting matched by too many others ITBLITW. Also his ceiling is super duper high and still a few years away while Son is at his ceiling rn. I don't agree with the view that Dele has sucked this year; he's def not sharp but he's still adding value all over the place. (I do wish Son got more run tho and Spurs are gonna need him in upcoming stretch, six games in eighteen days and five of the games are plop, west ham, @united, rm, @rm.)

Miles was utterly brilliant. Also a big fan of Le Tissier, Merson and Frank Skinner.

I must have missed that. I recently found that site too. It's the GOAT. I'm really surprised Ronaldo has had higher xG games.

The two big ones are whether or not they include penalties and how they deal with multiple chances in one attacking sequence

Have you tried selling JuicePlus? Means you can be a full time stay at home mommy while earning the big bucks!

Cesc finally admits it was him who threw the pizza at Fergie.

Given up trying to dislike this guy.

so they pretty much value regular chances the same?

What about when chances are created from offsides positions that are not called by the ref?

Good work.

I see Burnley would actually be adrift in the bottom 3 and just about holding on to 18th if they weren't sun-running. Again.
