I disagree.
I can easily tell the lagers in my local. Becks (which we no longer have), Estrella, Amstel, Veltins and Frontier.

Agree with this, Becks is one of the worst german beers imo (of those that cost >50 cts a 0,5l bottle) but if I did a blind test I'm not too confident I could even pick out my favourites against it.

Proper Becks - The 4.8% one you get in bottles, not that Vier rubbish.

It often happens in pubs when say you have 4 people drink one type another 4 drinking another type then 1 person drinking another type.

People taste it and no one can really agree and the person just ends up drinking it anyway. Even though they are convinced it’s not their type of beer.

Whether it’d be a different story if it was first pint, you’d possibly be able to taste the difference quite easily.

1. lolplop.
2. Bolton must be terrible.
3. Bud is all kinds of terrible, I will drink Fosters or Carlsberg over it.
4. Becks has deteriorated in quality at some point in recent years. I'm not sure if they have switched to brewing it here. We can't even import lager well, I'm blaming Brexit.

Have never heard of Vier. 4.8%vol is standard no?

Ox kinda blows.

You know it's tough when you get hustled by Wenger.

Police telling the referee which end to take the penalties at Turf Moor. Never seen that before.

Draught Becks in the UK is now Becks Vier. It's 4% and has the tendancy to go flat if it's not in a glass with the contoured glass bottom that somehow keeps the gas alive.
It's been this way for about 10 years now.
The bottled original 4.8 version is so much better.

Me neither.

Love the 3rd Leeds pen.

Superb series of pens from Leeds. Pretty much all unsavable.

GG TP

Bah!

All good penalties from Leeds.

At least we lasted longer in the cup than Plop.

If I am not mistaken Peroni is an imported beer and is not brewed "under license" in the UK. All piss beers are the ones brewed under license in the UK. Peroni is a clear step above most of the beers it has been compared to itt.

Also lol at putting Budwieser at anything above the lowest tier. Its brewed in Wales at the same place they brew Stella which is another utter piss beer that is totally overrated. It used to be good, but that was before it was totally commodified and industrialized.

I thought it was brewed in České Budějovice. Pretty good beer imo

If you are going to drink piss beer (I do, it has it moments, but lets call a spade a spade) you might as well get Perlenbacher Pils from Lidl. Im not going to call it a good beer, but ice cold its absolutely on a level if not better than Carling export and its ilk, and it costs 89p a bottle. Get it in the bottle though, cans are a bit cheaper still, but its a false economy as it travels a lot better in glass than can metal (whatever that is nowadays).

It staggers me how we still use cans for beer. It really does affect the flavour, although not as badly as plastic bottles.
It's the Coca Cola series of quality.

glass bottle>can>plastic bottle>post mix

Ugh, this is like saying that 250lb chick is the best option when the other two are over 300lbs. I'd rather have water if these are the options

I try to go with pub-style lower alcohol beers. That or a decent Pale Ale(these seem to be a dying art in the states)

I'm going to disagree with this. If a producer is using a quality can, cans are vastly better than glass bottles. Cans allow a beer to stay fresh for a longer amount of time and a beer won't suffer light damage. Clear and green bottles can present problems in that realm as light damage from being on a shelf or kept poorly will ruin a beer.

KW, I'm on Untappd as Newk. I drink less beer than I used to and some of my biggest beer drinking was before I started using Untappd. But, I do love it as it's a great way to keep track of what I've drunk.

**** the snobs. Piss is piss. I can enjoy craft beers with anyone. All sorts of types. I've had chocolate beer and enjoyed it. But when I'm on the beer, thats not what I'm interested in. Peroni Vs Carling? Who gives a **** I will be drinking a dozen of them.
09-19-2017 , 07:12 PM
Its almost like you can get pissed and enjoy the taste of what is getting you pissed more than X. Almost.
09-19-2017 , 07:13 PM
Also all chocolate beers are **** fps beers.

Guinness is probably my favorite morning beer when I'm in the mood. #2 is Bells Two Hearted which is the my favorite although I tend to do dumb stuff or fall asleep after six of them.

My rankings of cheap macro would be 1. Labatt 2. PBR 3. The rest of them taste the same to me. I was on a decent Mexican beer kick for the summer, love Modelos on a hot day
