This is either the pre-match ritual of an insane alcoholic, or a figment of his imagination.

I've been slow to the Gueye party based off his 35 starts for Aston Villa in 15/16. How can anyone start 35 times in that season and be a superstar, but then again Carrick played 34 times for West ham in 02-03.

also pogba started 30 times for man utd 2016/17

Aston Villa went down with 17 points. West Ham went down with 42. Carrick was probably 20 at the time. Gueye was in his mid-20s when Villa went down.

So that justifies my Gueye scepticism. My suspicion is that Koeman has crafted a set-up where any halfway competent holding midfielder could look decent.

You should have won the league in 2015-16.

A once in a century event occurred, and Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea imploded. Arsenal were just Arsenal. Liverpool were normal Premiership Liverpool rather than the once in a decade title challenging Liverpool. That just left Spurs all alone to win it, and they contrived to finish 3rd.

Last season you didn't even put up a title challenge.

And through all this, you haven't even won anything. You build years of success by first winning cups, Pochettino seems to have ignored this. If I was him, I would put absolutely everything into the League Cup this season. I would play Winks, Wimmer and co. in the league and Kane and co at Chesterfield in the League Cup. You must start winning trophies soon, or else it will never happen.

Finish this season with nothing but CL qualification, and you will start to lose your key players. There isn't a Trippier ready to step in in every position.

Oh and the £100k wage cap doesn't make any sense. Pay your top players what they are worth before it's too late.
Solid trollling.

Fwiw when the new stadium opens everyone is pretty sure the wage cap will increase.

Just a shame all the decent players will have left by then.

I haven't seen enough of him to comment, but the side that took them down was dreadful. The back four appears to have been Hutton (lol), Lescott, Micah Richards and Aly Cissokho for much of the season. Up front was either Ayew the even younger or Gestede.

In other news, I saw Joaquin, who must be about 80, playing for Betis yesterday. He took the must dreamy touch at one point that I think someone should sign him. What happened to his career anyway?

Spurs fans don't realise it but they have a 3 season window to win major trophies and therefore retain their players despite not being able to match competitor's rates.

This is the final season of the three.

Danny Rose summed up what Kane, Alli and co. are thinking.
08-21-2017 , 09:41 AM
Nah, I think they'll be fine if they finish top 4 this year. I just don't think they'll achieve that.

ya but that's largely because you can only convince yourself that plop will top4 if spurs miss out

Not that a post this crap deserves a response, but Spurs will be paying their players what they can get elsewhere (or close to it) once they are in the new stadium, if not before.

Spurs clearly have scope to give their players massive hikes, and stay within FFP.

Is ffp even still a thing?

It'll be not being in the champions league that's the danger imo.

Very much so. Villa can't really sign anyone at the moment because of it. PSG are going to have to do some accounting wizardry as well.
