No talk of NBC's Premier League Pass in here yet? I guess the Americans have fled for the offseason.

Cliffs: NBC's GOAT coverage of all games for virtually nothing is a thing of the past, but it is only $50 a season for access to all of the games.

god damnit i need to refresh more
06-27-2017 , 09:38 PM
No, it's not, it's $50 plus the cost of cable

WTF

I don't have cable and would use a friends login to stream everything but this part ****ing sucks

However, there’s a significant catch. Those who pay for the service will not be able to stream the matches that are broadcast on TV, which of course will include all the big matches that make the league what it is.

So this just impacts those who watch on nbcsports.com? They had a feature where you could watch any game and now they're charging?
06-27-2017 , 09:57 PM
I guess I missed that. I will almost certainly have NBCSN through whatever cable or streaming I will have anyway.

I use Vue now, but considering jumping ship now after they lost BeIN and haven't really done anything other than go down in quality since I signed up. Doubt anyone is much better though.

I get pissed at networks for doing this kind of ****, then like 100000 people come out of the woodwork about how they can't live without this channel or program they are stealing and I'm just kinda like

No that's me asking. Is that what it is or am I misreading your initial post? What's changing from the yank who has the EPL cable package ?

You can't watch all the games online. you need this gold thingy now for an extra $50/year.

Will NBCs still offer all the games on its Extra Time channels included with the sports tier on many cable systems?

Just read the Deadspin article. It looks like the Extra Time channels will still carry all the games at no extra charge, but the article is hard to follow, like it was written by a 6th grader..

However if this stays $50 and we get a PS4 ap out of it (if it doesn't already exist) I'll live with it

I don't think so

Quote:
For TV subscribers in this dark future NBC has hurtled us into, the only matches you’ll be able to watch online as a benefit of your cable subscription going forward are those NBC sees fit to put on one of its traditional channels. The auxiliary Extra Time channels will be killed, and the option to stream matches that aren’t broadcast on cable TV has been taken away, too.

In the same boat. Got Vue because it was the GOAT sports coverage out of the cord cutting options. Watch football >>>>>> any other sport (though I watch other sports but football a must) and while I wasn't watching beIN religiously it's significant enough that I too am considering switching now that it's been dropped

They just wanted to lolUnited, and who can blame them?

If they don't buy a striker they'll be out sharpish again.

It looks like Moyes has found another job.

I've been with Vue for a year and recently researched alternatives. YouTube tv has less channels and worse quality at 720 30fps. Soccer is unwatchable at 30fps. Vue is steady 60fps. Sling is more expensive and their apps are hot garbage. DirecTV now streaming service doesn't have cloud dvr which is deal breaker for me. Finally, fubotv has BeIN (and all BeIN extra channels) but it's missing ESPN.

Pro tip is use Vue basic + sling international sports package ($10/mo) to get BeIN.

Scott Parker's announced his retirement. I can still remember watching this advert featuring him back in the 90's.

To be fair that Sturridge headline can probably run year round

the sad and pathetic thing is that I'll happily pay the $50 just to have the option to watch more matches. God damnit I'm a sucker
06-28-2017 , 11:32 AM
Are you guys really crying over $50 for a season of blitw. Every game? Like less than a dollar a week for 15hrs of football. In the UK, the most basic sky sports package runs you 10x that and we get 3 or 4 games a week.
06-28-2017 , 11:46 AM
I'm paying $140/year for a streaming service that has basically every televised game from the top 6 leagues/CL/EL, plus all the yank sports, golf, tennis, whatever. That's less than I would be paying per month for the TV channels that have the rights to the PL/CL here.
