ya it totes should have finished 7v9 like most matches, you delusional ****wit
worst of luck in the championship next year!
What's delusional is every post you've made about the match. If you seriously believe that the referee had it in for Chelsea I suggest you're the ****wit.
This can't be true. 50% of players must outperform xG (since xG is neutral) or some players outperform it so much it's a bit less than 50%. Or am I missing something obvious here?
I think implicit in this kind of statement, which admittedly AO didn't put in his original post is that a very small number outperform xg over a large sample in a manner that is statistically significant (like 95% confidence intervals or w/e).
Cahill sucks. Glad to clear that up and he's a massive idiot. If he stack to what he was semi-competent at, he'd not find himself sliding because he lost the ball while trying to replace hazard. Harsh i guess but whatever fully deserve for being a moron.
Ref was fine in the major decisions really, both sides were dirty in their own way. David Luiz was madder than 72o. Cesc/Rudiger yellow were lols but who cares.
Overall, it really shouldn't distract from the fact Burnley were actually pretty damn bad. I can't insist on how bad and stupid the chelsea defense was yesterday. Burnley basicalled managed to throw 3 long balls out there then chelsea defenders took turns in being as bad as possible and their 3 shots on target resulted as goals. Obviously a great amount of variance there, you're not going to finish every chance you get nor will your opponent be acting drunk in the 1st half every game.
It's pretty obvious that if Cahill doesn't get sent off, 95 times out of 100, Burnley just sit back don't get a touch of the ball and lose 1-0 or 2-0 and the remaining 5 times they draw 0-0. It's just Chelsea who has to blame for themselves and Burnley just benefited from the absolute blow up, nothing more and I don't rate that Burnley performance at all and I think they'lll def be in the mix for relegation battle. The fact they couldn't get a sniff of the ball with 10 then 9 men says a lot
You might want to watch Burnley's goals again if you think they were from long balls. Here's a handy video to help
And if we scored from every shot on target we'd have got five.
I thought we were very good first half, obviously helped by Cahill's red card. Second half we seemed to lose it and we should never have let ten/nine man Chelsea back into it as we did. If we didn't have the three goal cushion I'm sure we'd have been a little less complacent in that second half.
I mean yeah there are two crosses 35 yards from goal from the right side that chelsea defenders/gk bottle completely leading to goal and the 2nd goal, is also (a very good) ball over the top of the defense and an unprobable (and excellent) finish. Frankly David Luiz + Cahill + Rudiger + Christensen were awful and there's something bad to say about chelsea defending/positioning on every goal. Even Courtois wasn't great.
Good job and all but I don't see much encouraging nor sustainable in what Burnley did yesterday in the first half yesterday. Doesn't mean anything because the season is long but just thought I'd calm down some of the guys who thought Burnley "should" (à la Ian Wright)be 5-0 up in the 1st half due to barcelona kind of football. If anything, the fact they were nowhere before the red card and in the whole 2nd half playing vs 9.5 men is more to worry about than those 3 goals
Worst Chelsea first half I have seen in a long time. But morata looked good which is the positive. Just need to get everyone back from suspension and fit and not be too far behind when they are. Also let's hope bakayoko is at least as good as matic as we really missed him yesterday.
We would struggle with a full strength team. He have half a side out today, I would be surprised if you weren't top of the league at 6 o'clock. Basically I have seen this situation at Old Trafford far too many times and the chances are we will be beaten before we cross the white like out of the tunnel.
