This. So much this.

It's Jose way, before the match he said he wanted a draw.

So were martial and rash dropped for any other reason than going to cut bait this season?

Hope not. Mou is pathetic. Happy to see young talent get away from them

Also want to shout out to Joejoe who gave me some great ITALIA recs. It’s been an incredible trip and Europe is awesome

ETA: looks like rash played. Shame

wenger's saying some pretty daft things imo,

Quote:
"In a few years you will certainly have a European league over the weekends," said Wenger.

"It is inevitable. Why? First of all, to share money between the big clubs and small clubs will become a problem."

"A domestic league will certainly play Tuesday, Wednesday. I think that is the next step we will see."
football fans are, as a rule, provincial as hell. no one wants this

European league would be utter ****.

galaxy brain super deep langering

ya keeping the Euro games midweek & domestic on weekends seems necessary if they want to trojan horse in a CL that is actually a league

I agree that no one wants it but when has anyone cared about what fans want? And midway through the first super league season, everyone will watch anyway. I mean, everyone hates FIFA's guts but will still watch the World Cup including me. Obv people care more about their clubs than a few hundred slaves dying in Qatar but still.

Only reason this is a few decades away imo is that the owners of big soccer franchises like Mun, Bayern, Barca etc are raking in money hand over fist as it is so the slight risk of angering customers with dramatic change isn't worth it. But I do think they'll move towards the murican model eventually if only to supress player wages. Maybe not if the sheiks who don't care about profit are the majority of owners.

Big lol at Werder and HSV being the German number two and three representatives.

Should've said companies I suppose. Bayern and Barca technically are still clubs but not sure how much say the members still have. They obv have zero say at United.

i'm speaking from from a PL-centric perspective, naturally, but i dont think mun-barca would do the same numbers as mun-pool. i dont think arsenal-napoli would draw as much as arsenal-newcastle

my suspicion is that real madrid vs napoli would do no better than real madrid vs las palmas, though i may be wrong

and you're always going to have an underclass, even in a super league. is anyone in the world going to give the slightest toss when 15th place arsenal travel to 17th place lyon for their week 22 euroleague match? doubt even ty bothers going to that one

a superduperleague would feature better players and higher quality football, but less drama/intrigue/subplots/local shenanigans/history/bollocks. pretty football is nice to watch, but i think most people are in this for the bollocks. many would not pay for a non-bollocks oriented brand of football

i mean, the only way it'd come off is if they reckon that there's loads of money to be made from RoW, enough to cover local tears + fund each club having 1.5-2 teams to play in two leagues concurrently

and there very well might be

I think that must have been done round about the time HSV had a moderately deep Europa League run, possibly the one where they lost to Fulham?

Stop with this anti-Mourinho propaganda please
