I believe the only two European countries that have some MLB fans are Germany and the Netherlands.

The Netherlands was actually in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, and I read about a small following in Germany..might have to do with US servicemen over there, or something..

So how are they gonna fit a baseball diamond into olympic stadium? Where's home plate gonna be?

Probably be held at lords.

Fantastic.

Sigh.

Not a chance in hell the MCC allow that at Lord's. The archery for the Olympics was only allowed there on the condition that they didn't walk on the square.

A bunch of Yanks playing rounders? On the finest turf in the empire?

I mean, they held the press event at the Olympic stadium and all. Pretty sure it's taking place there.

I never believe these player exchange rumours but Martial for Willian is such a predictable Mouaids transfer.

It is

Seems appropriate seeing as it's hosted dross all this year.

Didn't know, guess it won't be.

Guess they'll just play it there then.

Confirmed as above.

Seriously who the hell wants to pay money to go watch that?

People play cricket over here though.

I can’t think of anyone who plays baseball/rounders after they leave primary school.

Local clubs don’t even run it. They have netball, basketball, hockey etc

Even sports centres that have a vast array of sports don’t play it

6 clubs in scotland, I can only get onto 1 of their websites and it hasn't been updated since 2015.

Guess there must be some sort of interest in London though.

i was worried about attendance too initially, but there's 75k yanks living in london, hundreds of thousands of tourists at any given time, a few locals will turn up (i'll be one of them), and i expect there will be quite a few euro baseball fans who will see this as a chance to see their first live game for relatively cheap and make the trip

it'll probably do fine

I'd probably go, if only because it's Boston that's lined up to play

Managed to wrangle an invite to Italy day at the Itai embassy so I'm sufficiently twatted to not be nervous. GL KC

Have a feeling Soton will do enough

I remember trying to play baseball with a couple of friends when I was about 9. We were pitching underarm and rarely getting it outside the box of the football pitch we were on then a kid in my class came along, took one swing and knocked it 3 quarters of the pitch.

These teams are both such trash. Just toss a coin and end it.

The fact that the Yankees and Red Sox are playing, won't hurt.

Two of the four most popular teams in MLB, along with the Cubs and Dodgers.

I can't imagine the players are too thrilled..have to travel to BF England right before the 'dog days' of summer begin..
