With that in mind - where would this year's semis occur?
Spurs - Man U: Either Villa Park or Millennium Stadium
Chelsea - Southampton: Twickenham or London Stadium
The problem is that there simply isn't a stadium decent enough in the midlands. Villa Park doesn't cut it anymore.
Playing a semi at the London stadium would be as rubbish as any West Ham game played there. Twickenham would be a good option but the RFU have enough trouble getting the local residents to agree to the odd extra rugby match. Two sets of supporters all heading to Cardiff on the same day causes travel chaos.
I agree that Wembley semis are awful, but the only other stadia worthy at the moment are St James', The Etihad, Old Trafford or The Emirates.
