Straight swap is a great deal for Arsenal. Remember when Sterling + cash for Sanchez was mooted, then it was said the deal was Sterling for Sanchez + cash and people ITT were like OMG, what a bad deal for Arsenal?

Never knew any other family details until reading the stories today. His brother became addicted and homeless after, and he never even apologized or tried to help. What a poor, messed up family.

Giggs is a **** obviously but his brother had problems with addiction/homelessness before the affair story broke, fwiw he's fairly well known in Manchester for being a bit of a **** himself which is why Giggs tried to always distance himself.

He badly misplayed everything after the affair news broke IMO, should have went to a publisher with a million made up stories about Giggs/United that was guaranteed to make headlines and make himself a ton of ££. "Ryan slept with posh on a weekend in London and introduced David to her a few weeks later, he still doesn't know" etc etc

i think the brother's wife sold the story to one of the papers which was a nice touch

edit: google tells me she revealed the story in news of the world and then went directly on vacation with the kids

It's an amazing deal for Arsenal, but it's also a good deal for Man Utd as they know that they'd have zero shot at signing him at the end of the season as he'd be at City as soon as the summer window opened.
Not only are they getting a great player, they're hindering their main rivals improvement.

Would that be truly so bad? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Alexis at United, but his likely window of production will be small and the paper he'll be on for possibly two years will be awful. That said, it's not our money and United basically **** out money, so it may not matter.

While I love the move right now as it would improve us and stop city from getting a great talent, if we are waiting until the summer, then moving for him probably isn't the play and focusing on someone that's 24/25 and really talented is probably the better play.
