Yeah too soon to say anything about Frank the Farmer, palace sure look wank though.

Bad and unlucky. It is the only possible combination that results in 4 L's and 0 GS.

Fer as best player on Swans is one hell of a take. The guy is legit terrible, but has moments of real quality that trick people into rating him. If you want me to pick a team that will be battling regulation, I'll take any team that gives Fer a significant amount of minutes.

Legit awful. Trying to do a 360 with regards to style in the space of 2 weeks is never going to work.

A lot has been made of his spell at Inter as well.

He'll probably get a few more weeks but he'll be sacked sooner rather than later.

Thanks guys.

His results at Ajax were undeniable, yet I dont think I ever greatly liked him.
Pretty much always disagreed with his substitutions - when they were the obviously correct ones they were always 15 minutes late - and occasionally the lineups themselves. He seemed to be good at getting the focus right though, it was a pretty consistent time. Maybe that's what made it so dull.

Would like to see him do better than this though.

Ambush what's the general view of Justin Kluivert among Ajax fans? He looks pretty legit from a small sample eyetest and Mourinho was tapping him up after the EL final.

I don't know of any general view other than that people seem to like when he plays. It's exciting as he often tries to dribble but with a goal in mind (dribble past -> pass) and not too flashy like young cRon or someone.

As for general consensus, I can't even agree on him with my friends, but I personally think he's a very good winger in a somewhat traditional fashion, which is refreshing with all the cut inside men running around nowadays. Haven't heard anything really negative on him.

He's obviously still inconsistent but his peak moments consist of just running past someone, from a standstill, as if they're not even there and giving a good cross/pass for a tap-in. Sometimes in relatively small spaces. In a manner that holds up to the highest level of play and isn't just LOLeredivisie. With some improvement he can do this numerous times each game. If he then adds some more goals to his game he would be good enough for the best of teams in Spain/England/lolFrance etc. I can see him getting there, but no top team should spend a crazy current year amount on him anytime soon.

Dick Law, GOAT name btw, steps down as the chief transfer negotiator at the end of September. Arsenal will be looking for a new sporting director now.

Looking through the schedule, two things stick out

1) thanks to weird Monday and Friday scheduling, we get football every day through next Sunday.

2) next week the early ko is palace and soton. that should be incredibly aidserific.

While I don't think de Boer is a good coach, it's a terrible decision to hire somebody of who you know he's going to try a new system and change things and than fire him after just 4 games.
09-11-2017 , 06:23 AM
Hodgson the replacement apparently

I think lack of patience is leading to a remarkable amount of poor decisions with regards to managers in today's football.
09-11-2017 , 06:33 AM
Yeah, wasn't there a study that suggested that if you were struggling, replacing your manager tended to improve results in the short term.

Obviously the most likely explanation for this is regression to the mean, but that's probably not the easiest sell to a football chairman.
09-11-2017 , 06:35 AM
Hardly a new phenomenon sacking useless managers.

4 game 0 goals not happened since 93 years ago.

Had the recent evidence of his failing at Inter too.

Cya Wank.

i predict that palace will continue to play roughly the same players in roughly the same positions and with roughly the same instructions, but that they will not continue to lose all of their games. therefore this is a brilliant decision

there's a study which says that struggling teams which replace their manager improve their results

and also that struggling teams that do not replace their manager also improve their results, and that if anything they tend to do slightly better than the sacking teams

cliffs: teams that are running bad dont run bad forever regardless of which bloke is sitting on the side of the ****ing pitch during games

I suspect they might even manage to position the ball inside the oppositions goal soon

I wonder what Palace thought they were getting when they hired de Boer.

Woy did a decent job at Fulham and WBA, so they might actually be alright.
09-11-2017 , 06:51 AM
Isn't there just a rotating cast of old English (or Welsh) managers who play ****ty defensive hoofball who all have an amazing record of taking over terrible teams and saving them from relegation, until, you know, they fail?

Pulis, Fat Sam, Woy etc.
