I mean you have to be really pessimistic to come up with a scenario where we drop down below Arsenal (and I was a Spurs fan in the 90s so believe you me I can be just that pessimistic):

Us:

Watford (h) - W
Bournemouth (h) - W
Crystal Palace (a) - D
Leicester (a) - D
Arsenal (h) - L
West Ham (a) - L
Man United (h) - L
Hull City (a) - D

Would give us 74 pts

Scumbags:

Crystal Palace (a) - W
Middlesbrough (a) - W
Sunderland (h) - W
Leicester City (h) - W
Tottenham (a) - W
Man United (h) - D
Stoke City (a) - D
Everton (h) - W

Would give them 74 pts also but our GD should be better....

*edit* - I'm missing one of their games somewhere....

At this point, I don't see us collapsing. That doesn't mean we won't lose to Watford on Saturday, but we are still playing as if we have a chance of winning the title when in reality we have very little chance.

In sum, I think Arsenal have as much chance of catching us as we have of catching Chelsea - it's possible, but unlikely.

Jinxing it but cannot see us finishing below Arsenal. Can't really see us finishing anywhere except 2nd at this point.
Welcome!

Always nice to see another member of the Yid Army on here..

The fact that we are where we are despite Kane missing one third of our league games is quite shocking.

Not to mention Lamela and all the other key injuries we have had.

Maybe our depth isn't as bad as some have said..

Serious question

Is there a better midfielder in the PL than Cristian Eriksen, if there is, what is the player's name?

Victor Wanyama.

Our depth isn't as good as Chelsea or Man City, but then we don't have unlimited resources.

However, moving squad players like Mason and Bentaleb on has given Winks a chance, and he's taken it. Moving Chadli on has given Onomah a chance, and he hasn't taken it.

So, it's a balancing act. I think a pool of 16 senior players is enough if you have a talented pool of youth players, which we have.

However it's not all upside if your squad is super deep - you get players like Loftus-Cheek, who IMO would be in the England squad if he played regularly in the first team, getting 5 games a season. he's played 21 senior games compared to Dele's 134. Such a waste of a talent.

No in all seriousness you'd have to say that Wanyama and obviously Kante are better albeit a different position.

Sadio Mane
Coutinho
De Bruyne
Hazard
04-06-2017 , 01:18 PM
Surely Sanchez
If we count the likes of Hazard, Mane
04-06-2017 , 01:33 PM
Joey Barton

There's also that little guy called David Silva
04-06-2017 , 01:51 PM
Jesse Lingard :/
04-06-2017 , 01:59 PM
Rooney has been retired 2 years and we're still paying him £300k a week. £75k for Lingard isn't that bad.
04-06-2017 , 02:20 PM
Clever of you to drop "successful take-ons" in there at the end to pad Hazard's stats.
04-06-2017 , 02:36 PM
Eriksen has been Spurs best and most important player this season ainec. If he does his ACL first game of the season, I don't think we finish higher than 6th.

You should have compared central attacking midfielders to Eriksen, not wingers (Mane, Hazard) and strikers (Sanchez)

De Bruyne is valid, Silva, Ozil, Coutinho etc

I think there was plenty of evidence that Bradley was well in over his head at the prem level. If he was still there, the relegation race would be done and dusted by now. Swansea were a slow moving trainwreck under him and now at least have a shot at staying up.

It's looking to be that way. But, when a guy is as unknown of a quantity, it's hard to know what to think at the time of the hiring. Look at Pochettino at the time of Southampton making the move on him. Looks like both moves will end up working out. But, history is also littered with managers that are now in the dustbin when they didn't work out.
