Levy does spend all the money he gets, more or less. I mean, we only turn over £196m a year which is the 6th highest in the PL. Plop are 5th highest and turnover £100m more, yet we've still managed to finish above them for 7 out of the last 8 seasons or whatever that stat is.

People bleating about us not having a bloated squad with £100m on the bench need to understand the environment we are working in. That Levy, Poch or whoever has managed to take the club forwards on the field while we finance the new stadium is a very credible achievement.

Also, compare how much money a succession of crap managers managed to piss up the wall on average-to-poor players before Levy took over.

Only one bleating about anything is you when you're trying to blow smoke up our arses.

Oh put your dummy back in and watch the match....

Yeah seriously, you's are turning into Arsenal from 10 years ago. To be brutally honest (I could be wrong) but no-one really cares about your net spend or whatever trophy you want Spurs to be awarded for how good their balance sheet is. Time to stop looking at how well run the club is and win something while you have a decent starting XI.

I have a crap phone so can't copy the link but the indie is running a story about how Fifa are trialling special tickets in the confederations cup for fat bastards

Lol Kev I almost put in my previous post how we used to read the exact same **** itt from Arsenal fans.

They got told the same thing btw and it wasn't wrong then.

Javi Garcia lives!

I was pretty impressed with the way we have financed the stadium and then realized that our ambition won't change with our financial situation. Our owners are not some broke ass mofos, neither is Levy.

While it might be satisfying to see that you compete with Chelsea/City/ManU with their triple spending, at the end of the day they will win the league and we will fight it out for top4 until we do not open the wallets. Simple as that really.

I'm so done with "our owners make tons of money" trophy while we play Holding/Chambers at the start of the season and lose a heroic game vs Pool with a clowncar defense...OI ZONE

that was my first thought after it was confirmed he is leaving Barcelona. Won't happen though. Wenger will stay.

Clearly saw the Leicester job open up and took his chance...

I don't know about Enrique. He won the CL with Barcelona. We've all done that.

Seriously speaking, I'd be fine if he came in. At least he's not Mancini or Benitez.

My personal fav is still Eddie Howe.

Luis Enrique/Eddie Howe is clearly not passionate enough.

On a serious note, if we hire Eddie Howe as the replacement of Arsene Wenger...I will probably cry.

Seems my babbling about The Championship was better received than I thought it would be - thanks for that! I've been reading the thread (I'm never too far behind) but every time I start a response, I end up falling asleep. I've been putting a lot of overtime in at work and it's kicking the **** out of me, to be honest.

Can't be arsed quoting and responding directly but I think I can remember a lot of what people said. Enough to keep the conversation going, anyway.

A few people mentioned Fulham, who I didn't talk about in my review. At that time, I had them behind Derby and Norwich as the final team with any chance of getting in the play offs. It's pretty clear that they have overtaken Derby who seem to be almost out of it after a terrible string of results. I still think they'll come short and I still give Norwich a better chance despite Fulham having one more point and a game in hand. On the face of it, Fulham look like they have been unlucky, having comfortably the 3rd best GD but sitting in 7th. But they had 5-0 victories over both Reading and Huddersfield which while creditworthy, hints at the real story behind Fulham's season; inconsistency. While Fulham have been able to compete with the bigger teams in this season's Championship, they're not grinding out victories against bottom half teams as effectively as their rivals. I think this will see them fall short.

I made a comment about Sheffield Wednesday having the strongest non-parachute squad, which faced the retort "What about Brighton?", which is a fair question. I didn't forget Brighton, though. The distinction of squad rather than starting 11 is key. There's no doubt that Brighton have a great starting 11 at this level and they are so well drilled that replacements are able to come in and do an effective job, despite a drop off in quality. Having said that, they've done pretty well with injuries. If they were to lose 2 from Dunk, Stephens, Knockaert, Murray for an extended period of time, I have no doubt they would suffer materially. Wednesday on the other hand, have had the likes of Almen Abdi, David Jones, Steven Fletcher, Callum McManaman and Gary Hooper coming from the bench regularly. Defensive cover is a bit lacking but for The Championship, our attacking resources represent an embarrassment of riches.
