Bored of it. Not a foul. Last I'm saying on it.

Anyway,

Yanks itt, anyone in New York?

Where is best to stay for a long weekend where we can take in the sights and bloody shopping? Could probably meet up for a pint? I was checking out ice hockey tickets but they are insane prices I assume it's because it's the final games of the season?

Yes sir, yes he did.

Could you imagine Fergie saying something similar complementing Citeh fans?

I didn't think so either.

A red card would have been harsh, but a free kick yellow would have sufficed. Alonso has hit Bellerin full tilt with the most dangerous part of the elbow.

Wenger needs to add the Klopp 'we were ****' to his post match game. Don't think he's said it once in 20 years. Don't recall his after 8-2 interview but he prob made some lame excuse.

IIRC, LFC lives in the tri-state area. I did live in NY/NJ for 8 years and keep in contact with friends, so hopefully I can help. As far as sights, what all are you looking for? Same would go for any boozing and/or eating. I won't be able to necessarily help you with small locals-type places, but, I do know my way around fairly well.

That should be perfect, mind if I PM you nearer the time?

Don't stay in Midtown and you're more or less good.

If you want something trendy go somewhere like Gansevoort. If you want somewhere quiet, go somewhere like Parker Meridien.

If you want to look at guys with beards stay in Williamsburg.

Just don't stay in Midtown. You'll hate life there.

Your PMs make more sense now

I live in NJ but go into the city quite a bit. Where to stay depends on what you're trying to do. I'd be fine saving a few bucks and staying in Jersey City or somewhere on the Jersey side and taking the train in if you're planning on doing a massive day in the city. Should be significantly cheaper.

As for the city itself everything is so easily accesible with public transportation so I don't think it really matters where you stay if you find a good deal. I'd just stay away from the 100s. My favorite part of the city is the East Village but it completely depends on what you're looking for. heh gave a good brief description of the different areas.

Again for the ice hockey go to a NJ Devils game. It's about a 20 minute path ride iirc and lets you off right near the venue. Tickets will be much much easier. There is a small chance I may be able to hook you up with amazing Devils tickets but it's a bit complicated and I'd have to have met you first etc... Anything at Madison Square Garden is overpriced for a **** product. The Knicks still sell out ffs.

I'm in once in a while for Liverpool games so could meet for a pint. If you're a beer guy could give you some elite beer bars to go to, not necessarily for atmosphere, but for the best beers USA#1 has to offer. What sights are you looking to do? The typical Empire State building, Statue of Liberty, etc..?

QFT. Added bonus - real nice views of Manhattan skyline from JC side.

Avoid Times Square if at all humanly possible. Do visit High Line and possibly the top of world trade center. Ice hockey is goat sport as far as the difference between live and tv experience goes, imo.

I don't disagree, but, how often will KW actually get to NYC? So, staying on the island has to be the way to go. If he does it right, he should be able to find a decent airBnB somewhere.

And, seriously KW, listen to everyone saying: don't stay in Midtown. No, seriously, DO.NOT.STAY.IN.MIDTOWN
02-09-2017 , 11:41 PM
I lived in midtown for 11 years. Would live there again.

Then mebbe you should look at where each of them put their respective arms and you might notice the enormous difference. If it's a fair challenge to you then you're basically Danny Mills, which isn't a good look.

Royal blue basically nailed it yesterday in what he posted.

KW, PM for restaurant recs if you're looking for that as well.

Also: +1 to highline. Also nice is the Hudson River Park. So you can walk from the Twin Towers monument site, down to the river and to the high line. It's a great walk.

I'm thinking about going to NYC in June:

Why is everybody saying do not stay in midtown?

Can you get buy reasonably priced Air BnB located in Manhattan?
02-10-2017 , 08:02 AM
Because Midtown is chock-full of AIDS.

First and foremost, it's tourist hell, so all your food options are borderline bile. It's basically like spending your life in Leicester Square.
02-10-2017 , 08:21 AM
I stayed in Midtown when I was there. Not really seeing the problem, if you are visiting NYC your hotel is just a base, you will always be out at different places. Especially if it's just a weekend.

I willingly admit that I am spoiled.
