English Football 2015-16 - Leicester City won the league English Football 2015-16 - Leicester City won the league

I think the "story" aspect, ie. knowledge of the teams, who the players are, what they've been through, how the teams are doing relatively etc. is underrated as driver for entertainment value.

Level of play and competitiveness is also important, but the above is why people still choose to follow random sub tier leagues. It is also why it is so hard for people to start watching a new league, because fundamentally they just don't care - despite the level of play perhaps being better and/or more competitive.

Definitely. Very good point. I have the same feeling towards cycling. If you watch it just like that without any context of course it is going to look boring as **** but if you know the cyclists what their strengths and weaknesses are, where they've been etc and are generally more aware of most of the stuff it becomes quite enjoyable sometimes it's more about the dynamics than the product. PL is goat at this cause of history, large transfers, drama and banter all around

Wouldn't want to watch a league where i can't make a joke about half the players in it

Yea, I mean what do we really know of players from other leagues apart from:

-Robben is injured always
-Suarez bites
-Pique uses twitter
-Pepe is a ****
-Ronaldo is quite possibly the most self-centered prick in the history of the sport and not even in a fun way
-Zlatan is the most self-centered prick in the history of the sport in a fun way

and I'm out...

you're right, Bayern vs Dortmund this year was a great competitive match unlike any seen in the PL this year.

messi is the only reason to watch non pl club football iyam

well that and rooting for busquets to get injured
01-04-2016 , 08:39 AM
Yeah, this is my favorite PL season yet, because with the emergence of Leicester and Watford, and to an extent Palace and Stoke, any game involving one of those vs the traditional top 6 (and Everton, Southampton) is going to be interesting

Thats up to 12 teams to watch when playing each other

Let us not forget the special downfall please.

If this "which league is best?" **** continues, we're in serious danger of having SugarNut post in here again.

I would love to come here and say that my nation's league is the best.
But really, EPL is just a clear #1 and I don't understand how anybody could say otherwise.

Lol I'd go as far as saying they definitely aren't, not this last year or two anyway.

The Paddy Power gif on Twitter is priceless lol.

BAIDS catches a huge break on our ATL>RM wager with Madrid firing Rafa already. I'd banked on him lasting until at least February
01-04-2016 , 01:03 PM
are there even any good players at Watford? i only know that Granada guy.
01-04-2016 , 01:07 PM
how has José Jurado played for them?
01-04-2016 , 01:22 PM
I don't think he's held up statistically but he's always looked good when I've watched Watford. Technically very good.

Watford play a really defensive and narrow 4-4-2. Jurado and Abdi/Anya are basicaly auxiliary fullbacks. Jurado been hardworking but shown little creatively. The front two do pretty much all the attacking.
