Andy Hessenthaler (The guy who was kicked) had this to say about it:

Quote:
"Well, it is Boxing Day, to be fair. It was nothing - it was fine. It was a little bit of banter; something that's been going on between us over the last few weeks.

Congrats, Fanerio on the next page?

Also FF, IDKTS etc chat is fine considering its 2+2 leagues. Sure no one cares apart from those involved, but a load of stuff gets posted here that no one cares about. Just scroll past it.

So tomorrow being a bank holiday means most premier league (and below) players need to play 2 games in 48 hours. Recovery, how does it work?

Down the pub after the Boxing Day game for five or six pints to rehydrate yourself, like any proper athlete.

Yea but progressives like Wenger banned the pub. If Howe followed your advice Bournemouth would absolutely batter Arsenal tomorrow.

Re: English Football 2015-16

yeah always interesting to see what kind of rotation there is in the holiday period. managers will be stupid if they don't make some changes. really, it already should have been done in the first game to make it manageable. i really only noticed soton and perhaps everton (gerry) doing this. maybe there were others.

i am really worried about our fitness levels given our high intensity style (like i mentioned yesterday). i guess the other side of the coin is that watford don't have the depth to rotate and so a tired ighalo/deeny/capoue are sure to be trotted out there. i think we can easily swap three out (rose/son/carroll or chadli in).

Re: English Football 2015-16

Since one of the Bosch is in the thread, I've often wondered how England had such a cultured central defender. Then someone told me - it's because he's of German stock (as is Andy Hessenthaler, I believe).

just checked the IDKTS table since I hadn't in a long time and was shocked to see nobody even mentioned who was sitting in last.

So LvG is still our manager? Amazing. Should have gone after the Bournemouth game, or the Norwich game at the latest. Gross incompetence from Woody & co.

Re: English Football 2015-16

After the Chelsea game, Giggs for a bit, and then Mourinho.

But someone was saying on some podcast that it's pretty silly evaluating a manager on game by game basis as is supposed to be with LVG at this point (agree). If there's doubt might as well just go with sacking him now. Pretty reasonable that United can beat or get beaten by Chelsea tomorrow. Outcome 1: Keep him. Outcome 2: sack him. All based on the movement of a ball, in windy conditions, controlled by 22 incompetent players over 90 minutes tomorrow. LONG BALLS

an almost immaculate comedy opportunity has been missed by not having Mourinho in charge of utd for tomorrow's game

Should have been Giggs for (Norwich/)Stoke/Chelsea, then Mou or whoever they have lined up. As played, pretty sure sacking him last night was the right play still. Zero chance we get anything from the game tmrw now.

The problems lie deeper than just with the incompetent buffoon of a manager we have though. Brian McClair left his post as Director of the youth academy in may (was announced in february) and still hasn't been replaced. We have no full time youth scouts in the UK. Our effective DoF is a marketing wiz with delusions of grandeur. We're a circus run by clueless businessmen.

I really wish we'd move to a more continental approach (see Barca/Bayern/Dortmund) where people with actual knowledge of the game are making the football decisions and there is a long term vision for the club from top to bottom, largely regardless of who the manager is.

I say let him try and work his way out of the little slump. LVG is clearly the best manager for UTD.

They should admit the error of their ways and re-hire Moyes.

Exactly, that's what I've been saying. People seem to think having Rambo covers the loss of Santi which is mind boggling as they are complete opposites in their style of play. Santi's ability to carve through teams first wave of pressing against us is invaluable. Hence in recent games KosGoat having to step into midfield to start attacks, which last night Soton prevented cleverly putting pressure on him everytime the ball was at his feet, a tactic opposition teams should use against with our limited options at DLP at this time imo.

Re: English Football 2015-16

Was out of town with no Internet for gfs family so missed the game. Looks like we were thoroughly beaten and outplayed for the first time in the league this year. Hats off to Southampton, just glad we're getting a flamini replacement in at the beginning of January. If we're serious about the league it has to be done
