English Football 2015-16 - Leicester City won the league English Football 2015-16 - Leicester City won the league

I was anticipating mega over reactions to the inevitable City defeat but not too bad actually.

City's title chances are pretty much confined to keeping Silva and Aguero fit. Once they hit anything near good form we'll be pretty outrageous again. Mangala shouldn't get a look in now behind Demichelles (also not great anymore) and its worth just playing Fernando or Sagna there instead of him. If Mangala starts in the prem again serious questions should be asked.

I didn't understand the blame Yaya narrative on MNF, i guess that shows pretty much ****e now that Neville has gone.

Thierry Henry is the worst pundit I've seen on TV in my lifetime.

What are you talking about?

Henry clearly justifies the 4m odd he gets paid.
12-21-2015 , 09:25 PM
Carragher was quite good in the odd couple routine with Neville, you know the Scouser and the Manc, they shouldn't get on but they just bloody do, that's your side and that's my side and all that.

Now he's just an odd man coupled with terrible "special guest" pundits.

Kudos to Bellamy for the previous MNF, attending in full Wales Kit and his face painted with a red Dragon shouting ALL WELSH PLAYERS AND MANAGERS ARE THE BEST for 2 hours.

I wonder, what is the frequency of great former footballers actually being smart about football? Most all of them seem like babbling idiots.

Scholes in particular irks me no end. He's still living on that "He was a quiet lad so when he speaks up we should listen!" but now he won't really shut up and is saying the same type of **** that you'd expect from a Souness or Shearer. Don't get me wrong, he was for the longest time one of my favorite players, he just seems like he has the intellect of a cocker spaniel, unsurprisingly perhaps, and the fact that so many seem to give his words more weight than they merit is annoying.

Any updates on the progress of the latter two? Been hearing conflicting stories about both having delays in their recovery. Any chance we see one or both make an appearance in January?

Henry unfortunately has brought absolutely zero insight so far, but he sure looks great on screen.

yeah i heard a few updates. should be about three weeks from saturday. and three weeks from the saturday after that as a matter of fact. odd coincidence that.

Latest news is welbeck is February. Nothing on wilshere and with him no news is certainly not good news

kosgoat jfc.

knowing that we were lacking ball-playing quality in deep central midfield city were really tight on our fbs and pressed them really early.
kosgoat effortlessly slipping trough into midfield time and time again to feed the ball to our attackers was really key and unsurprisingly how we scored the opener.
elite performance in every way(lol at kev blaming kos for the de bruyne chance)

I'm just happy that our #ravaged team can kick ManCity ass who are missing Kompany and Zabaleta.

Where is Pool from this graph? The model must not know they are title contenders since Klopp joined

city don't have that many players out, but aguero and silva are nowhere near in form which is worth more than some random starter being unavailable.

that's not to say that missing sanchez isn't equally vital. city have not been good for a while. everyone has them penciled in as for sure getting 2nd if they don't win the league, but i don't think it is that far fetched to think that they could slip even further if they have an average to below average run of variance.

their underlying stats on an overall basis are still really good, but they have accomplished them in a really erratic way. they have served up lots of turd performances this season. a few of those in games they really should be winning and they could be in the scrum with the rest of us.

Their away form is attrocious and I can recall at least 2 recent binks at home vs Swanse (94th deflection) and Norwich (93rd penalty)...they got demolished by both Spurs and Plop and if Aguero/Silva struggles to gain form/suffer setback- I can see them falling behind. Inb4 they spend 500 mill in january and walk this...

Also Walcott and Campbell defensive contributions were great. Don't think ove ever seen Walcott switched on that good defensively (to be fair he was defending well vs villa too). He was a bit at fault for the de Bruyne chance since he should have been covering deeper when Monreal pushed up.

City counterattack really slowly. No creative passers from deep, Silva and Toure wanting the ball to feet rather than running beyond. If they added that to their impressive possession game they'd be miles better.

+1, was surprised to realize how terrible City have been in away games, as I haven't really heard many people bringing it up lately. But before Toure's goal today, the last time they scored in a league game away from home was in their 4-1 loss to Spurs in September.

And yeah, Kos is just great. Didn't notice it the first time, but it was his pass between the lines that started the move for Theo's goal. Absolute machine.

Yeah most footballers would be bad pundits. But of course there are some that are right for the job, like isn't Carragher pretty good pundit?
12-22-2015 , 02:18 AM
Also ARSENALWIN!!! Still I have my doubts about us finishing above Leicester though.

Leicester is far too low. Should be at least like 9%. The model must not know they're leading the league by two points.

Not really. It's purely down to LvG still being simply awful.

lol, rugby is way better than yank football. You can actually watch a game of rugby without the need of red zone.

Leicester are allowing over a goal a game. They've let in 10 more than Spurs/Arsenal/United. That defense isn't getting better and you're not going to win the league letting in 50. You can't win games 3-2 forever, but it will be fun to watch.

As said, the defensive contributions of our wingers and giroud have been incredible. Kos has been amazing building from the back. Everyone has been great, but the game at St Marys is just as valuable and we need 3 there as well.

i find it kinda dumb/hilarious that ozil gets credited with an assist for the walcott goal, given the ball seemingly wasn't even intended for him (or if it was it was a terrible pass).

a bunch of footballers or former footballers are guests on the regular football podcasts here. i guess they try to select those with something to say, but they are generally all good. much much better than the journalists.

those on english tv are less impressive tho.

Wait, are you saying Busquets doesn't deserve an assist for this one?
