English Football 2015-16 - Leicester City won the league English Football 2015-16 - Leicester City won the league

na jose came up with it during the year of suarez

iirc the basic idea is to lower expectations to such an extent that you can get away with playing eden hazard as a wingback
12-18-2015 , 12:14 PM
Well, José invented it in that case, because it appears nobody else has. Cult leaders do that kind of thing.

Pulis shouldn't be bragging that his team cost even 20mil considering they can't string 2 passes together.
12-18-2015 , 01:09 PM
Her wasn't bragging that his team cost that little , he was bragging that Klopp's much more expensive team couldn't beat it.

Agree with oafk, he couldn't really continue and thinking about it a bit more I changed my mind that he should have stayed on until end of the season.

The return is an overall failure (including trophy counting) when you consider objectives:

1) the aim was was for long term development of squad
If reports are accurate, there's no way you can have him continue in the long term if tensions between staff and players exist with unpredictable relationships going forward.

2) aim to bring through younger players
again his short termism, his win at all costs attitude, doesn't allow for this. The thing is, barring any disasters (like this season), I think his job was safe if there was progress without the trophies / league titles in the short term. I think after losing out on the league in 13-14, which if you ignore the little horse troll he would have been absolutely confident chelsea could win it, caused the sale of lukaku (and previously de bruyne) to buy ready made high level talent. Where maybe working with lukaku (and others) a year off being ready (de bruyne was ready and regrettable loss - fwiw I think mata was a good sell) and maybe finishing 2nd to city would still be fine for Roman. But it doesn't seem he can adapt to that and his attitude after losing out in 13-14 was "I must win league next season". Which is fine and winning the league last year can't really be a reason for being 16th this time round (that is likely a combination of 1. and 3. ) but maybe not optimal for long term development.

3) Tactics / consistency / quality
The drop off in level since February is pretty staggering. Not sure if it's cowardly approach in recent months, which is something I've considered, or some players just unable to reach those levels again or unconvinced by tactics. The disappointing thing is that he has been unwilling to change much, unusually for him. Or incapable at this time. Or tried a hit and hope approach more often than I'm comfortable with - only a bad team does this. Tbf things have improved last 10 games or so but still it's not close to the level or play that is required. Looking forward, it doesn't seem irreversible considering the age and quality of most players but at this point, for whatever reason, it does seem tso can't deliver. It's not a phD, he can't have a reasonable period of time to solve problems - he has to solve it quick and it seems he can't. Considering the ages of many players, it's a waste playing in a bad team.

Which leads on to who should manage next? Erm, someone who won't piss off the players and attempt a different approach. It seems it's Guus short term. That's fine.
Long term? Pep? OK but not sure if he has better offers and at same time don't care too much if we get him or not. I mean, it's just the mail, but if he needs 10 new players and 15+ million a year, then unless one of those 10 is messi best look elsewhere. If pep = getting messi then get pay pep his money.
I don't subscribe to the extremities of the baids theroem and look for a more balanced view, but if you could say get carlo back for half the money and he'll take a look at Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Fabregas, Oscar, ask for a couple of defenders, maybe a striker and think he can get them into a pretty good team challenging for the league and CL, would that not make more sense? Or we can have Pep ship over Buyern, and watch him scratch his bald head in April when Barcelona beat us 4-0.
Anyways, farewell tso, you're so GOAT that you can win a league championship and still leave in (relative) failure. One of Roman's correct sackings.

Hoping the under 14 girls coach gets the job somehow.

Probably the best thing about Jose's sacking is the u14 girls coach having his voice heard.

I did laugh when I saw he had popped up, sniping at the old boss.

He was drafted in by Uncle Avram too, a man that knows about management, for sure.

You referring to Rix? Pretty certain he banged a 15 year old and she's too old for U14.

Not saying it has happened, but that someone wrote it on a picture makes it much much more likely it has happened.

Sunderland have faced more shot than Newcastle.

So is that over all shots rather than sot? As long range shots could be down to a good defence stopping them getting close, or frustrated players just shooting etc

Doesn't change the fact we're boring as though!
