Pretty happy to see Carroll get a start. Played well in midweek, and scored a great goal. Hopefully he can kick on and establish himself like Mason did after his goal against Forest last season.

It's been this bad for about 4/5 years now. We just haven't got benteke scoring goals out of nothing this year.

Son hasn't been quite at it since he returned from injury. At least considering the form of Lamela and Eriksen.

My only concern about benching him is he never seems to pick up the pace of the game off the bench.

I guess the bottom line is he's not playing as well as the 4 who have started ahead of him, who have also been well rested over the past week and in Lamela's case, GOATing.

I love Carroll more than basically anyone, but he is no Son. That's why I feel like it is driven by either fitness or to keep Alli in his explosive, sensational, off the striker role.

Pool are basically just as big a favorite against a much more organized side. That must be pretty horrible too.

u3 looks tasty in our game. newc def is bad but 4 goals is a lot.
