Ah turns out Sky got La Liga, after originally pulling out of the bidding.

I stream Netflix/Iplayer mainly in the evening, and never had any issues, even in HD. I think I'm right in saying the BT Sport channels are streamed via internet and again never had any connection problems (other than when i first got it, where i think my bandwidth was throttled, but sorted that with a phone call).

what site are you referring to? pm me please. I have the basketball equivalent ball$treams which is a super sick product but could never find such thing for soccer

I have 75/75 for internet which is more than ample speed for everything I do. Don't think I need that much upload speed, since I rarely do any serious uploading.

Fair enough. 17mb just seems hell of a slow, that's slower than the standard mobile.

I just done speed test on my 4g:-

Couldn't believe it was so high! So re tested and it went over 100mb!!

Done it again, 48mb.

From Bundesliga reject to best player in the EPL in 90 days with this simple trick.

EPL managers hate him. Order now!!

Btw, since we're on the subject. What's the go-to mobile provider in the UK? I have phones, so just need the best carrier in terms of coverage and 4g speed + data.

EE ANIEC!

You'll pay a bit more - 3 do unlimited everything for cheaper but over all they suck and it's worth the compromise IMO they also don't do wifi calling or visual voice mail.

Get a 30 day contract and if you don't like the coverage/signal change until you find the best. It's a bit of a pain in the arse but no point signing up for a contract when you'll not get the coverage you need.

I have a 3 subscription solely for the 3likehome part which allows me to roam data freely in a bunch of EU countries. Quite helpful for google maps gps and such.
For the UK I just want the best coverage possible, so EE should do. I used to work for Orange anyway, so it'll be like coming home, I suppose.
12-01-2015 , 02:35 PM
I had 3 for the exact reason as well

They didn't cover all the EU though, also liked that they had US on it but even then it was painfully slow to use. Ending up getting a local sim card as it's better.

I think it's next year that the EU data roaming is abolished

Yeah, next year and then I'll definitely be scrapping the 3 sub. It was a life saver in Italy driving around Umbria-- especially because I only found rentable sim cards there. 200 euros for 3 weeks was a bit much.

Ta for the info. I'll setup EE for myself and the mrs.

Are there any banks better than others as well (should prob just google, but whatever). I used to bank with HSBC but they closed my local branch which was really the reason I liked them.

Just gonna blast this after every game United plays 0-0

Banks a bank iyam

As long as they have a good phone app and one that allows you to take money out the wall with it, quids in.

Generally if they have that, they'll be signed up to apple pay as well, which has turned out to be pretty flawless and rapid.

Refuse to use Apple pay, but yeah I guess I'll just go Barclays or Natwest.

To be fair I just used it as a gimmick.

It's just as quick to use the contactless on the cards.

The problem is you have to say can I pay with contactless or Apple Pay. Then the cashier needs to authorise it. If they put it through as a normal card transaction they need to cancel it. Just make it automatic and it'll speed up the entire process.

It can't be that hard for the card reader to know the difference between if a card has been shoved up it or a phone/card has been tapped on the screen at the top.

Saw a discussion on the (proposed) immense impact Luke Shaw's injury has had on us. Had not really though of it in this light but the main conclusion that is drawn is that his injury threw a monkey wrench into our attacking game as now we don't have a full-back on either side that can overlap and contribute offensively. This has had a negative effect on our left-sided players especially and Memphis is obviously struggling(altough I think he also has a big problem regarding football IQ and attitude).
So Memphis (or Ashley Young for that matter) who loves to cut inside does not have an overlapping presence that draws one of the defenders away from him and this is also true for the right side, although Darmian is still in the team the attacking part of his game has come up severely lacking.

So our situation is this: We hold onto the ball a lot and this compresses the opposing sides through the middle, coupling this with Rooney's decline results in extremely little joy coming through the middle, so the ball gets passed around and ends up getting flung out to the wings.
Now, the right side: Mata is not a winger and can not take men on, Darmian and Valencia are pretty terrible at this as well so the only real danger coming from the right side is from Mata drifting in with the ball and trying to split the defense which is a very low-frequency-success proposition.
the left side: Memphis and Young have fairly little attacking support and don't have the quality to create something without this support. Memphis in particular seems to be making a lot of poor decisions when he faces being doubled. So the ball either gets passed back or lost in an attempt to dribble past 2 or even 3 players at once.

A lot of our best moments come from Martial drifting out to the flanks and occupying the wing-positions as he has the ability to go past men quite easily.

I like this playing style for the right squad make-up, even with our limited squad the results have been good (albeit with some conversion-rate rungood, I guess).
Key factors in this style offensively are full-backs. Darmian was signed for a relatively low amount and is a limited player so I don't really think he is a long-term solution, Shaw ticks all the boxes and should have a spectacular career with us.

What is needed for us to be dangerous is
a) quality 2-way wing-backs (we already have 1, albeit an injured one)
b) dangerous dribbling on the wings

It's real easy to bang your head against the wall and shout "BOOOOOOO BOOOOOOORING" but what gets lost is an objective discussion about the reason we are playing conservatively and the reason why our attack is not working.
My personal belief is that the former is due to us having a bad defense, which is masked by the fact that we keep the ball a lot and have 2 midfielders that don't forage forward, opening this up and taking the safety away might work to creat a little more but it might also result in us conceding a lot more and demean our chances for even top 4 (Spurs and Liverpool are very good and Spurs especially have a much more balanced squad).
The latter, I believe, is because we need more attacking quality in key positions (wings, wingback, depth at striker).

The main criticism that I think is warranted for LVG is being seemingly unable to drop a horrid Rooney either for Herrera or putting Mata in the hole. Perhaps another criticism is that there wasn't more urgency to upgrade the wing-position after losing Di Maria (if that, in fact, is on LVG).

I'd love to see the thoughts of some of the anti-LVG brigade (kingweed especially) on these matters.
Really the main question that I pose is:
Do you think our attacking play would not dramatically improve if significant top-quality signings are made into this playing style at right-wing and right-back, assuming Shaw is fit?

Agree. Also, finding a flat is a pain in the flippin' arse! Not because of selection but because of estate agents being dicks.

Don't torrent nearly as much as I used to.

I pay like ~$105 for Direct TV and have every single sports channel. No HBO/Showtime/Cinemax though
I don't do a lot of streaming. Just some netflix/HBO Go/etc and the occasional Liverpool cup game that isn't broadcast and I don't see any change in the speed. I'm pretty sure that I have a middle of the pack package for internet.

What package do you have for Directv? I don't have any movie channels but have the sports pack as well as the Spanish channels.

Actually really looking forward to this Boro game. Should be a good test for Everton.

Nope. Won't make a jot of difference. This is what LvG does.

That fella who was played out of position and lost form/confidence, can't remember his name. Scored a couple of goals in the CL the other day. Won't make a jot of difference signing quality players if you can't accommodate them, play to their strengths, actual/favoured position or whatever due to a system that is in placed and won't be changed regardless.

Last season was the same, boring as hell, we have the highest back passes to the keeper in the league, highest number of passes per chance etc etc

Might be the Mickey mouse cup but when you have never seen your side lift a trophy and its the QF's, really hope we win
